I cut and pasted this from a .1/.2 table tonight:

ihateall: If I can get to $20 I'll register for the $4,000 $20 buy in
ihateall: I got 8 minutes left.
MSteveW: you cant cash out if you have multiple accounts
ihateall: yea I can :P
ihateall: I already did it the other day
MSteveW: oh
ihateall: for $500
GibzDoesIt: you tilted me with that deuce
ihateall: I won a $3 $2,000
ihateall: lol
ihateall: All you got to do
ihateall: is have 1 real account right
ihateall: with your Real name and stuff
GibzDoesIt: you tilted me with that duece
ihateall: and then transfer the money from the other account
ihateall: after you win
ihateall: and cash out from the real account
ihateall: its easy.
ihateall: I've already won almost $1,800 in the last 3 months
GibzDoesIt: lol im out
ihateall: with out ever paying $1
ihateall: the most money I won on this website is from 1st place finishes during tournaments
ihateall: surprisingly from smaller buy in tournaments normally
ihateall: like $5 or $3
ihateall: one $10
ihateall: my biggest $$$ is from a $5 $2,500
ihateall: first place for $776
ihateall: I bet ACEisaLACY guy
ihateall: beaT*
ihateall: the $3 tournament I won recently again Chump_Change
ihateall: and I make about 100 accounts a day.
ihateall: for the last 3 months :-/
ihateall: It was hard to figure out at first
ihateall: since all the e-mail account providers want you to use a phone number
ihateall: to register a new e-mail
ihateall: like yahoo
ihateall: or google
ihateall: or aol

I watched someone log in and sit with $2 repeatedly with variations of ihateall, I hate everyone, various racial slurs, and then copy regs screen names and avatars for about 2 hours.

I was surprised that global allows duplicate screen names.

Everyone be aware that anyone can create a new account and copy your screen name and avatar and pretend to be you in chat. Yes, two people can sit at the same table with the same name and avatar.

I did notice that the new account wouldn't have my notes associated with the avatar that would be with the real person.

It's unfortunate that there is absolutely no vetting of incoming players. If global gets shut down its most likely going to be because of what some 12 year old does on their site.

It seems like the only real security is the duplication of email addresses. That is one of the bugs that is going to have to be fixed, maybe by verifying account prior to allowing you to play without a deposit.

This needs to be changed and fast. How can they allow the same username be used multiple times!?!? That is just absurd. A rep needs to get in here and assure the players that this is being taken very serious and will be fixed in the near future.

It isn't really the same user name, slight changes with new email accounts...

poker
poker1
poker-1
poker01

etc...

I think a way to close that abuse would be to require verification prior to allowing players to jump in using the free $2 prior to play. You can create many new email accounts, but it is far more difficult to create a lot of new state issued IDs.

Another way of doing it would be the free $2 being credited after a small deposit, that would use PayPal's work of identification as a support system, too.

They have addressed this a couple of times in other threads. They seem to act quick once it is pointed out to them, but it needs an internal adjustment as a preemptive measure.

Actually, last night he was creating accounts with exactly the same user names as a few regs, myself included. The only way to know the difference is if you have notes on that person and they don't show up.
I noticed a player named illusive a few days ago playing .2nl and thought it odd he was playing down there. I know now it wasn't really him.

I submitted a few names to support and hopefully they can ban offending IP addresses and not just individual user names.
06-22-2017 , 11:42 AM
That is definitely an issue. One way to find out, when I'm done playing I will see if it accepts an account with my same user name with a different email.
06-22-2017 , 03:17 PM
If this is true that people can make identical user names that is a major, major issue that needs to be fixed like back in 2016. Please verify GP Admin.

Less than 50bb at 20nl lol.

Seeing this is even possible makes me question the security of the entire operation. I'm considering withdrawing all but a few buy-ins asap as I've lost trust in GP.
06-22-2017 , 04:09 PM
Wow, this is bush league stuff right here...
06-22-2017 , 06:33 PM
Wow, I thought the security could be bad, but not that bad. And this guy is taking collusion to a whole other level. 100 emails/day. Wow.. I guess that is how you making a living playing this game.

Hi all,

Firstly please rest assured that we take this very seriously.

When we were in the pre-deployment test stage we found that players could register the same username however, we put in measures to fix that before going live.

We need to look into this to see whether potentially people found a loophole around this and if so we will work to close it immediately.

Deal!, I am unable to locate your email in support at the moment, can you please send me a PM with your username and registered email address so I can find the screenshots you sent over?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will do our best to resolve as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

I just sent the PM, with my info as well as what I've seen tonight on the tables.

Why isn't there something built into the backend of the software that prevents an IP address from creating more than say 2 accounts before it blocks that IP address until someone verifies ID? Knowing that giving away free cash even as trivial as $2 someone will try to exploit it I just simply cannot believe something like this wasn't in place before going public, and it's really bad this far down the line it still isn't there.

Who is saying he using the same IP address? There is plenty of proxy services and VPN hosts that you can use and bounce through to keep that from catching them.

I agree if that protection isn't in place, it should be, but all with the understanding that it really is very defeatable.

^^This. There should be some sort of IP address flagging at least, but for anyone mildly internet savvy that's easy to avoid.

It's an important first line of defense however, as many low level criminals like this guy aren't the sharpest tools in the tool box shall we say and it's enough to catch them. Obviously this guy is dumb as rocks, copying screen names he's at the table with and bragging about it in chat... can't understand how this genius got caught.
06-23-2017 , 12:46 PM
Lol to this whole situation. I think most criminals get caught because they talk too much. He clearly just wanted to brag, because it wasn't enough for him that he was making money exploiting a system, he wanted someone to know that he was doing it.

If you want to be a successful criminal, it's just like any other business (grind, grind, grind, rewind, repeat) then when you have made your millions write and sell the tell all book, but while you are grinding shut the bleep up.

I made an account a couple days ago. And didn't need any verification. Granted I haven't deposited but I played just to test it out. And, from the looks of it would be very easy to just make multiple accounts sit down at the same table with my other accounts and chip dump
