Question Should you take this bet?

You meet a guy in a bar ...
So the guy proposes a wager.

He has a bag with 3 tiles in it. 1 tile has 2 red sides, 1 has 2 green sides, 1 has a green side and a red side.
You take a tile from the bag and place it on a table. It has a green side face up.
The guy says "I'll bet you even money that the other side of the tile is also green."

Should you take the bet? Reasons for your answer?

Re: Should you take this bet?

yeah this is way too simple of a question to merit its own POG thread

Re: Should you take this bet?

no bro

50% of the time it's the red/green tile, the red would be showing up.

Hence it's 66% likelyhood of the other side being green as well. (instead of the intuitive 50% that he offers up).

Re: Should you take this bet?

Obviously it's not my decision to make, but my opinion is it's fine posted here. It's sort of a logical puzzle at least as much of a probability question, and we do those. (It's an easy one, as others have observed, but still.)

And no, don't take the bet.
