I constantly keep forgetting the different probability models as well as their uses. I am lazy and dont like to review my notes so I noticed i should probably have a quiz I do everyday to keep my memory freshened. Consistency seems key with math

I have not had success in finding a site that has problems on these

1)binomial distributions
2)discrete uniform distribution
3)normal distribution
4)problems involgin approximating a binomial with a normal distribution
5)poisson distributions
6)geometric distributions
7)hypergeometric distributions
8)negative binomial distributions
9)continuous uniform distributions
10)and the exponential distributions

Anyone know any sites that give you problems on each model?

I just purchased a statistics tutor from amazon. Has examples of the majority of the stuff you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Try this website:

http://www.statsoft.com/textbook/stathome.html

Then look at the right for the button 'distribution fitting'...

Definitely a yay. The author breaks the material down very well. For the price I don't think you can beat it. Cheaper then buying college textbooks on the subject.

I suggest going an entirely different route. Screw probability models altogether. Learn a good simulation program like statistics101 (www.statistics101.net) or R (www.r-project.org). Both are free.

You can learn about the re-sampling method (for free) here: http://www.resample.com/content/text/index.shtml

Then just simulate your situations to find the answers to the questions you have. You will find that you rarely choose the wrong model and don't have to memorize any equations or probability theory whatsoever.

why thank you. I got excited when I seen the statistics101 thing.
