Lets take the folowing Situation:

Blinds 500/100

Stacks:

UTG: 3000
HJ: 3000
Co: 3000
BU: 3000
SB: 3000
BB: 3000

UTG opens to 2bb and we are on the Button and 3bet to 5bb.

Lets give him an openingrange(It`s not that important how is openingrange is constructed) of: 55+,A7s+,K9s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T8s+,98s,87s,76s,AJo+,KJo+ ,QJo

Our 3bettingrange JJ+,AKs,A4s-A2s,T8s+,97s+,86s+,76s,65s

obviously we only call JJ+ AKs when he 4bet shoves.

Also if we would 3betshove he calls AQ+ 99+(SB + BB Overcall this range too)

So a Program(ICMIZER) calculated that it would be +ev for him to shove this range:

www.pokericmcalculator.com/icmizer/#YXYD

EV if we shove and he calls with the 99+ AQ+ range

So the question is how do I calculate the ev of the 3bet, I obviously fold 60% and lose 5BB then, but my valuehands get value from Hands he wouldnt have shoved/called else.

I`m kinda thrown off by the fact that for example a shove of A2s is +1bb. I assume thats because he already got 2bb in, so does this Equity come out of our pocket or basically out of his own pocket(He will just lose less by shoving compared to folding).

So what`s better 3betting or shoving ? Obviously it would be best to 3bet only valuehands if he would shove everytime anyways.

edit: I don`t know if if would make it easier but if it would you can construct the utgrange that is exactly the range that could shove +ev over the 3bet. I did calculate it but I`m just not sure if my results are right.

Ohh I forgot how to balance our Range then properly, to maximize ev when he a)folds too much or b)shoves too much
