How many sample hands would you need to start getting an accurate 3 bet%?
e.g. if you had only 100 hands the 3 bet % wouldn't be very accurate at all.
What about 1000 hands? And how close is it to the actual percentage?
Cheers guys thanks a lot

If you're talking about the PT3 stat (3bets / 3bet opportunities) then it will depend on how many 3bet opportunities he has had. At HU, against a player who is raising a solid number like 50% of his buttons, the stat should converge quite quickly because he is getting a 3bet opportunity approximately once every 4 hands. In this situation I would say 200 hands should be plenty to get a good idea of his 3bet range to within +/- 3 percentage points or so.
At 6-max my guess is he'll be 3-betting around 1/3 as often as at HU, so you'll probably want 600 or so hands. It depends on the type of table, though. At passive tables he'll be getting much less opportunities to 3-bet, and he'll also be 3-betting a smaller range when he gets those opportunities because his opponents have much stronger opening ranges.
