Hey y'all.

Was hoping we could get a discussion going on the metagame effects someones last hand or last orbit has. When I see someone booking a win in racks I usually try to play more aggressively toward them than I otherwise would, as psychologically I think they want to leave with their chips. This can easily backfire though. There is also the potential of someone using this strategy to induce action, or realizing that they're a target and playing stickier than they otherwise might.

Here's a hand from last night, 1/2 game 8 handed eff stacks ~400. Villain is tilting and asking about open seats at the 2/5 game.

Hero racks up his 500 right befoRE UTG position and gets dealt QQ.

Hero limps, Villain in +2 makes it 12, gets 2 callers in +3 and BUT. Hero makes it $75 because he isn't the kind of player to ever l/rr (young aggressive white guy) and because he doesn't mind just booking his win and taking the $40 in the pot

Villain tanks for 30s and calls. Flop K95 we have no spade. Hero bets $65 Villain snap moves in for 225 Hero calls and hand is good.

The last hand dynamics made this hand really weird. I don't post it just to brag but because I wanted to ask, maybe this is something we can work into our game? If a player is tilting or after you, racking up could cloud their judgment and induce lots of action.

All comments welcome!
