Taunting ... any tell ? Taunting ... any tell ?

When I read this update from the 2016 WSOP Main Event, I wondered whether this kind of behaviour by Will Kassouf is any kind of tell that he is bluffing ... or whether in his case (a player who is well known for his theatrics) he is in well "balanced" in his taunts ?

In general I've found that players will push you in the opposite direction that they want you to go ... but this is usually done by actually using the word 'call' or 'fold' in their statements and meaning the opposite.

In this case the player is suggesting the fold and actually wants a fold, but never actually uses either word. We don't know any history with the player or how the betting went either and that can play a factor. I'm getting pretty picky here by not acknowledging the phrase 'lay it down' as meaning "I want a call" but I've seen more consistent results when the specific words are used as opposed to the catch phrases we use as synonyms.

By continually badgering in this case I do think he wants the opponent distracted by the situation so they can't think clearly and figure out the bluff. I would think that most people will do the 'safe' thing when pressured like this and that certainly means folding in this spot.

A player who is ignoring a penalty in order to continue the saga probably is worried about the opponent having 'clear' time to figure things out. GL
