at 18:25 an investment manager decides to re-resteal after his button open with J4o gets three bet by the big blind who had only T9o himself. hopefully he manages his client's money a little more carefully than he does his tournament life. after putting almost 1m chips in the middle he gives off two tells that he is weak. it's academic for his opponent who was bluffing himself but can you spot his tells?

I'm not a big fan of physical tells unless I know someone VERY well. I just think there is so much variance in it. That said...

I can see one possible tell. He slumps in his seat and puts his face on his hands. It can mean weakness, but I have to say I do this with the nuts sometimes.

that was one of the tells, specifically hand in front of mouth is a tell that you are lying (bluffing). and yes, false tells, either accidental or deliberate, exist.

You have to be very careful here. Protecting your face is more of a defensive or stress reaction. It could mean that you are weak or bluffing, or it could just mean you are stressed.

Tells exist (they are most useful if you can catch them in the second after information is revealed), but interpreting the tells without a baseline is very tricky business.

I don't think there's anything that interesting here, in a vacuum. I disagree that him putting his head in his hands indicates weakness/nervousness, especially in a vacuum. I'm actually more likely to give credit to someone for a hand when they put their hands near their face/head when betting, (because this often is associated with weakness/distress which makes bluffers less likely to do it).

But (like most things) it's only a weakly reliable tell and it'd mainly be something I'd want to watch for and see if I can pick up any patterns.

No offense, OmahaFanatical4, but I think you're trying too hard to find one-size-fits-all tells with these pots, and it's much, much harder than that.

Micro expression of frowning and pursed lips before announcing all in. It also looks like he closed his eyes after announcing all in, which indicates he is scared and can not watch because he is weak.

Lol you can't correlate anything here to weakness or strength. Its one hand and you can see the cards just bc someone is doing something with the nuts doesn't mean he doesn't also exhibit that behavior with a bluff. Like me for example. Oftentimes on the river when my opponent is in the tank I'll whip my weiner out and start helicoptering like a mad man. But I balance my weiner helicoptering range with bluffs and the nuts. And sometimes when I'm merging I'll helicopter just bc it needs air and as Mike Caro famously wrote in his Book of Tells "The quickest way to get your weiner to the air is to whip it out and helicopter it like you just don't care"

The difficult decision is trying to determine if you are helicoptering your weiner because you want to, or because you want us to think that you want to helicopter your weiner. It is hard to distinguish a sincere helicoptering from an intentional one.

I always look closely for the microhelicopter.

Would think you need a microscope for 446 since he seems like a very small fellow.

Not much here for me ... I do see what has been mentioned, but with his Basset Hound looks all of those 'features' could be normal.

1) No facial history to go off of.
2) No hand history between him and Shak to review .. other than Shak has a history of being a very active 3-bettor and folding to pressure IMO. Of course Shak is more than willing to gii as well when he has it.

3) Last hand before a break. Shak may have thought he was stealing (he was) and our Hero may have thought the same thing about Shak. Weird stuff happens at break ... seen it plenty.
4) Maybe the re-entry period was just ending?

The PHellmuth hands to face routine could be normal for this guy. Not many players curl their fingers under. Curled fingers would be a more 'scared' position than clenched fists, but I'm not one buying in on the 'prayer' position either. GL

My guess is the "unprotected cards" you mentioned in another post. Also wanna mention that I love your challenges and trust your reads.
