I understand that, I was just trying to make the rake comparison more of an apples to apples comparison. If we're converting everything, and this game is a $200 cap buy-in, then it's a $7.50+.75 raked game with a $150 cap in USD. Of course the blinds would covert as well, so if it's a $1-$2 game it's still a 100bb capped game. All I was trying to point out is that a $10+$1 rake in Canadian dollars isn't as brutal as it may seem to the players in the States. If you're looking at the rake in terms of BBs, then you're correct that the conversion doesn't change anything. It's a 5bb+.5bb rake no matter how you slice it or convert it.
