Do you feel that a player's tells change in any significant way if they are drunk vs. sober?

IMO some drunk players become over-confident in bad holdings, giving off tells of strength that would mislead us into assuming that they have the better hand. But, so far I've found that most tells are exaggerated when a player is drunk. So the "over confidence" is most often just that. The drunk who suddenly goes very very quiet and serious is the more likely one to be holding the monster hand.

Am I on the right track here? What do I need to look for to fine-tune my reads on drunk players? I ask because they are often a source of juicy pots -- BUT if you can't get a read on them post flop, they are seemingly dangerously lucky...

What about with regard to players who are otherwise high?

I would try not to rely on tells too much with a drunk player, even if you have reliable tells on how they normally play.

Reasons:
-They could have misread their hand
-They could have misread the board
-They likely won't be adjusting to different players and how they are playing.
-They might not understand their raw hand strength.
-They could think they are bluffing even though they hold a hand which is a favorite to win at showdown.
-They could think they are value betting with a hand that is almost never good.

Some drunks do actions quicker if strong and takes time before betting or raising when weak. I think its a revers-revers-tell.

So say there's a straddle in a limit game, an the drunk player says, "Easiest call in my life! I call!" What's your read, any two suited?
