Was listening to the CJ podcast with Lex, and a seemingly-tilted greywolf Lex grinded CJ's gears for referring to a 2 as a "two" rather than a "deuce;" is the latter the statistically preferred nomenclature live? If you hear "I had pocket two's" do you insta color-tag that spot mentally?
Mainly asking because I'm about to make the transition to live, and I don't wanna waste EV being a noob tellbox. I got some chips for my desk that I practice ruffling while I grind now, just because that seems to be the live version of topping off your stack (aka a "reg flag")?
Been crushing 25NL for a good clip, hunting soft 50NL, so figure 1/2 should be lunch meat. I have a mirror by my terminal that I look at when I'm in big pots for my body language, and I happened upon some breathing exercises in an SFOD-D sniper autobio that really help keep my pulse down. I practice saying "what do you have behind?" and "all in" out loud before I jam, kinda with a low look like Scott Seever. My gf thinks I'm weird now, probably multiaccounting on me, but tbh she's a bare 9-high fd otf in the runout of my life, like it's whatever.
Not even considering hoodies/shades til at least deepstack 2/5, but what about tourneys? Got some sick powder blue ebay LV Millionaires waiting in the wing, but forum consensus seems to be that 5/10 is earliest acceptable level for haterblockers? But if I run deep I'm effectively playing 5/10+ with ICM adjusted, so I think in a $110 they could be advantageous for table image?

Sick brag.
Sew your lips shut and you won't have to worry about what to say.
The good news is your thread crushes all the ******ed 'is poker a real job' 'how can we bring fish back to poker' 'state of poker right now' threads that populate NVG nowadays.
The bad news is that if you want to compete with the really good threads, we are going to need much more from you. But a decent start nonetheless.
typical here how an absolutely stupid thread like this continues in NVG yet former big and meaningful topics regarding security issues on Pokerstars are quickly brushed over to the internet forum to get as little attention as possible. Keep up the great work mods! * sarcasm*
Ill say both it doesnt matter to me. Mostly, I dont say much at all but what I have to.
eh i got some dookies!
dude though seriously, you sound like your over preparing, dont underestimate the donks at 1/2. At that level, its sometimes referred to as "poker bingo" because what you call math and statistics, most of it just goes down the drain. It can be easy, but it can turn on you.
Who cares? just dont be the smelly guy, the drunk guy, the loud mouth, the swearing outburst guy, or the guy that need to be constantly reminded of his turn.
I usually dress a little warm, a hoodie or zip up, because it can get cold...
No headphones, hoods, or glasses for me I hate that look. If you wear a sports hat, be prepared to answer questions as some people will talk to you and get info. Just be casual and clear spoken.
I also try to eat a balanced meal an hour or two before sitting down. Nothing heavy or greasy. I keep my pockets lite, I dont carry unnecessary crap. Phone on vibrate/silent. Get the players perks card so you can toss it to the dealer as soon as you sit down. Wait until the current hand is done and just slide it to the dealer..
The players card is usually a big tell for me with players. New players either dont have one/dont want one, or they wait until the dealer asks them if they have one. It should just be in your hand already with your chips when you sit down or taken out of your pocket and placed in front of you ready to be swiped.
I took it as a tell of overall poker experience/ability when a guy next to me commented about a hand (after the hand was over): "so he had Jack Jack Jack Eight Eight?" :-/
I did, however, look for other signs that he was a neophyte and not trying to fake inexperience before I came to a conclusion.
