I put you in a room with a 5 year old silverback gorilla.

I bet on the gorilla to be above you....in about 4 seconds.

You do realize that you could be charged criminally and civilly for assault and battery ? I can see it all now.... but your honor, he " hurt " me with his eyes and I thought my actions were justified.

Part of me agrees with this but when it it is so overt, exaggerated and obnoxious that it is ruining your experience playing, you gotta do something. Punks gonna get punked is one of the laws of nature.
Let me make sure I understand this. In a mental and emotional based game, you are saying that your best move when someone is trying to intimidate you is to show that it is getting to you by expressing your discomfort physically, knowing that physical confrontation usually disengages the cognitive portion of your brain and engages the lizard 'fight or flight' brain.

Even ignoring the risk of physical escalation, this is bad advice. I like ignoring the staring, staring blankly back, or the ***** eating grinning approach.
