Slightly off-topic but I was multi-twitching jcarver and tonkaaaa on Sunday when tonkaaaa spewed off $1050 regging the Sunday grand PLO by mistake when trying to reg the Holdem version.
Was hilarious to watch him playing PLO, like a fish out of water. He even had Isildur on his table.
He's currently a very close 2nd behind Somerville for best poker streamer imo. Great player and very entertaining.

Someone playing at Jason's table, just wrote in chat: you have a tilting voice.

Pretty funny. It is amazing to me how often Jason talks in a shrill and/or a whining voice. I can't believe that he does it away from twitch --- someone would have told him to cut it, by now.

Jason never does it when he's hosting an event through twitch He does a great job then. But for some reason when he playing poker, he's totally unable to talk in a normal voice for more than a few minutes at a time.

Jason told the guy: I recommend not listening to it (to Jason's streaming). That's good advice. But I wonder why Jason can't talk normally. Why does he lean into the microphone and raise his voice in that annoying tone all the time?

Because he is trolling at the moment. Usually commenting something jason will lose all of his money etc. I think those are the best parts of his stream in entertainment value.

It's been happening. Jason lost about 2415 today and his stars balance is down to around 2400. He mentioned something about hitting Jason Mercier up for some cash.

He seems to have changed a lot in the last few months. He's obsessed with more and more action.

Jason's stream has been an absolute car crash since he came back.

Down ~$35k for the month, shorter and shorter streams. Doesn't seem to realise he's a huge dog in $1k MTTs, $100+ Hypers & 20/40+ 8-game.

Thankfully, in contrast to Staples & Tonka, he's been able to take a downswing with good humour and still interact positively with chat. Some time in the lab required!

How is he dow -35k? Riustats says -7.7k? And even that 35 ain't so much paying the highest mixed games and mtts. Don't play myself those games (or stakes lol) so can't really say ifs he's huge dog or not.

And +1 to taking the beats like a man. Pretty sure it ain't easy losing in the most toxic and results oriented enviroment on the planet earth with the biggest audience.

he said several times he is not +ev in high stakes sng-s, but im not sure how he feels about high stakes 8game. one thing i found weird when he said on stream in a 40/80 8game table he really thought he was the best nlhe and razz player in the lineup.

Who is? He's playing the 6max hyper sats. Even the best of the best have a ~1% roi.

I can't see why that's weird, because most people assume they're good at what they do. Also, is it so hard to believe he was?

But that's the point. He's not even necessarily in a downswing and he torched his entire bankroll, and didn't stream the next day. His approach to gambling has changed a ton in the last 12 months.

He's acting just like the compulsive gamblers I know who earn 125K a year, pay 800 a month house payment, have no dependents, and can't afford a new car.

Personally I'd enjoy his stream if his ABI was 27 dollars (or less). Instead of 1000 hypers during the 5 minute break, play a 10 dollar beat the clock.

Come on now that ain't his bankroll. That was the money he had on the site. Pretty sure he ain't going broke anytime soon. There is no reason to keep money on the site because things can go south really fast and depositing is so easy.

E tbh I don't know if his behavior ar attitude has changed. Don't watch the stream on a regular basis.

Jason made 1271 today and ran like god.

During his recap he listed all the times he got lucky.

He forgot running threes into fours where he flopped a set, and turned quads threes.

He ran so well today that turning quads wasn't memorable.

Can't really blame him if that's the case after streaming basically for two years nonstop. And the riu brand probaly can't grow any bigger and hes starting to get those commentator gigs that might allso make streaming less interesting. And oc the fact he streams to several thousand idiots while playing high stakes games that he is still learning can't be good.

Jason won the Twitch Poker Player of the Year Award.

Lex said Tonka deserved the award, but I think Jason is definitely worthy. There's no streamer I've seen who I'd rather be the face of twitch poker than Jason. He always presents himself well.

Are Lex & Tonka friends IRL, though?

I remember watching an FT on Stars, and they were both trolling each other pretty hard in the chat, which gave me the impression they knew each other pretty well.

I watch Tonka's stream from time to time, and it's very good. Even so, Jason's is the one I find the most entertaining, and has the most variation from day to day.

They have played a lot of Dota together, so pretty good gaming buddies.

Cheers.

From the way they were bantering at the FT, I got the impression they knew each other well.

Could be. I thought it was very uncool of Lex to say that. Hey you won an award, but someone else was more worthy. I don't know what is accomplished by that.

Jason never talks about politics, religion or bad-mouths other poker players. I have a lot of respect for that.

I ended my sub to Lex's stream.

I must have missed that exchange, but agree, it seems quite petty to say.

I remember Lex from way back in the HSP days, and he was quite brash, albeit funny on the most part.

Agree 100%. Jason is just an all around decent guy, with quite an infectious personality. Streams are always fun, and I like the fact he plays everything, too.

I don't even play poker anymore, as I'd sooner punt my money around in the summer, than donate it online. However, I do sometimes play the homegames, and have started looking up mixed games, with a view to playing the odd Scoop etc.

I'm sure there are many others like me who will be burning some money during these festivals due to the stream, so it has to be good for the pros

Carver with a nice Isildur story and mentioned how Isildur likes "Lovefool" by The Cardigans and one time started singing it in front of Carver and some other poker players.
