he's streaming quite a bit lately, theres one little thing i dont really understand about him. he accepted a ton of donations last christmas for a threadmill desk, he got like 2-3k in one day... and still no threadmill desk at the stream house. i dont think thats cool.

i like the guy btw, i watch his stream regularly when no reasonable player's online.

Being 100lbs overweight will give anyone anxiety. Especially if you mix in playing mtts on top of it. That sounds like a stressful life.

That vlog looked so depressing. Butbut these trees are nice rofl. And ordering takeway come on there must be something ellse than pizza to eat. Those dudes looks so exhausted atm. If you are really that sick why do you vlog and try to grind? Just rest and take care of your body and mind. Or it will shutdown at some point.

re: Jaime Staples

Reading through these comments makes me utterly flabbergasted. All these pot shots and insinuations and lack of respect for Staples pisses me off to no end. The guy has been pure class from day #1. Staples and JCarver were the innovators and trendsetters for Twitch poker. Him and JCarver were the key driving force to making Twitch poker popular and it's come along way and continues to grow as I type. So all this armchair quarterbacking with baseless assumptions like Jaime is broke and other rubbish needs to stop this instant!!!

Yes, Staples isn't Mr.Olympia, but he's addressed his weight issues and give the guy some damn credit for working to improve himself in all aspects of his life. The trolls and critics focusing on his appearance are jerks but they'll always be there on Twitch. You would be surprised how many of us Staples fans there are. There's a genuine sincerity with streamers like JCarver and Staples that sets them apart from say Doug Polk. The former are streaming for the love of the game while Polk is clearly in it to brag, peddle products/merchandise and bash other poker players i.e Dwan/Mercier/Ben86

What I find astounding about the haters is the fact everyone feels like it's okay to talk about Jaime's finances. Sorry, but that's nobodies business but Jaime's. Layoff already. And I want to dispel this common myth around 2+2 that Jaime is bad at poker. He's not, granted he's no Fedor Holz but Jaime holds his own and people are just being results oriented when they look at his past results. Are we going to dismiss WCG's atrocious non shove with 2's with under 10bb only to basically blind himself out of a 1million guaranteed buy-in tournament. I play poker casually and even I know you shove in that spot.

So yeah, I wanted to stick up for Staples because I've become disgusted at all the negative criticisms he's been getting. It's not right and he's a stand up guy.

Okay. This is the internet. Actually a forum in the internet. People can talk here and give opinions about other people. Critising, trolling, dissing, kissing ass everything goes.

Talking about staplers health issues. He vlogs about them so natural reaction is to talk about that. He says getting in shape but guess what WROOOONG. Talking about finances? Are you stupid or just really stupid? Talking about players results and finances has been there from the day one in all forms on life. He vlogs about that so we can talk about that. About the pokerskills? I dont play mtts but even I can say he aint +ev in the games he plays. Mayde the smallest stakes mtts he can beat but most def not the ones he used to stream. He made money playing poker true but allso true is that he lost it all back.

And I can't understand why you are so uppset stapler not getting the love he deserves. At the same time you hate tonka and polk just as much. Get over it that they are better and more popular than stapler atm.

Like him or not, I doubt anybody that watched Doug Polk stream agrees with you on this. I haven't seen anybody display a higher pure love of the game than Doug Polk. Equal to, but certainly not higher in my opinion. Of course he wants to make money. There's nothing wrong with making money doing what you love. That's pretty much everybody's dream (no pun intended) in life, isn't it? When I play online I like having Polk's stream on just for the energy. I also like jcarver. His love of the game is evident as well. Plenty of streamers greatly love the game in and of itself. JNandez, AdrianFeniXx and a bunch of others I apologize to because I just don't feel like going through my bookmarks. When I watched PokerStaples I just never got the same sense of pure love for the game as I did from others.

If the negative criticism is justified (which I believe it mostly is), then I don't see the problem.

Especially for Jamie they started selling Head-Ache pills in the VPP shop'I won't have anybody dissing Stars either please, they are equal opportunity employers, that means if you don't take the opportunity and resign from there, they will invariably stiff you in some way, shape or form.

I have to agree with you there. Just look back years on You Tube when Doug is i/viewed at WSOP, he is one of the rare guys who seem genuinely excited to both be there, and improve his game. I feel that when streaming he is so happy doing so that he endorses his products cos he genuinely feels he has the superior products and wants to share them with you. He has,and still is putting in a ton of behind the scenes work and seeing as he is a pokers Pro,IE makes his $$$ from poker, he is entitled to some form of compensation I'm sure we all concur.

Couldn't disagree with all this more tbh. Staples comes across as extremely false when he streams, well the few times i watched him at the start when there was no one else about anyway. It was obvious it wasn't himself when he was so PC never swore and catering to the pie in the sky viewers who think life is one big fairytale.

Don't forget all the adds and affiliate links you cant blame the guy for wanting to monazite his stream but it wasn't all genuine love for the game and it isn't with any streamer not calling him out there. They are there to make money pure and simple. You sound like the exact type of viewer that Jamie was targeting with your naive views. There is no father christmas and most people don't do something as time intensive as streaming unless they gain from it significantly sorry to break it to you.

The Vlogs seem to be more real but just be yourself when you stream drop a few F bombs when you get a bad beat or something don't try to please everyone by being so airy fairy its a obvious act.

Hes putting himself out there in public so people talking about his finances and whatever else is par for the course. Pretty easy way to not get discussed is not to be a youtube and twitch public figure u understand that?

Guess if you had your way no news or newspapers would ever get printed because

re: Jaime Staples

I first watched jaime's stream over a year ago now and he was talking about his health and needs to make all these changes... Now he's still talking about it... Just bored of hearing about it to be honest..

Hes clearly lazy in that regard to his life... Is what it is... Im just sick of hearing about it

Not sure his financial situation... Seems to still be doing alright given his downswing.. Was saying he was going to play the main this summer and was going to play in 10k worth of wcoops... so he can't be doing too bad.. I imagine his sponsorship helps him out a lot so if he lost that probably set him back..

He used to be a poker player who streamed... Now hes a streamer who plays poker... That's why he's getting such negativity... Gotta win for the pelebs man lol Just like any fan of a sports team... People expect wins and deep runs...

A stream for a 3k score once a month isn't going to cut it either to compete with tonkaa etc... Needs to get better at poker plain and simple... For big binks and get the respect from the pelebs back again...

He makes some serious mistakes sometimes but overall he's not this horrific player... Plays solid... Needs to put in more volume from what I can see...

Also like anyone in MTTS.. You have to run good... Period

He is just a kid who doesn't understand the opportunity he has been given. He is blowing it right before our eyes. No chance PS reups with him. He is way to lazy. There has been month after month after month of 6-8 streams per month. Excuse after excuse of why not playing. And I totally agree on the "fake" thing. He doesn't seem genuine at all when streaming.
I really liked him in the beginning. He was a poker player. I don't know what this is now, but it isn't for me.

Out of curiosity, how much volume do other sponsored players put in? What are the standards that PokerStars holds to those they sponsor before they drop them? I feel like I see a lot of sponsored people I've never heard of before so I have no idea what criteria PokerStars demands.

Atleast frosty used to grind fr games. Have no idea what he plays nowadays cause dont play main stars anymore. Streamed sometimes allso but didnt get much audience. Dawarsaw grinded allso on a regular basis zoom games.

If I remember correctly someone mentioned that the main reason signing guys like stapler and kevmart is to test how much they can bring new players from twitch community. And imo it wasn't wery much. Though kevmart changed the name from toast to some kevmart so he might have gotten a new deal or something perhaps.

It doesn't matter what volume the real team pros / team online have to put it on twitch .. But for staples it matters as that was the only reason why stars brought him on in the first place . I have to agree with some of the other posters / i can't see pokerstars renewing his sponsorship ( stars does not need him with Lex/ sommerville and the other real stars pro's streaming ).. Judging by the jscoop / youtube / twitch etc jamie viewership / fanbase is shrinking by the day

I remember Jaime saying on one of his vlogs that his primary focus is growing his stream. He happens to be playing poker, but he would easily play some other game if he made more money doing that.

Exactly. If you put yourself out there as a public figure, expect people to talk about these sorts of things. Especially when you lose $60,000 in 1 year, on the game you're supposed to be making a living from.

I think Pstars signing KevMart with out him achieving SuperNova hurt him as well. it ultimately lead to Staples not going for SN, which in turn removed some of his accountability to Pstars, the stream and himself. It also removed a reoccurring story line for his followers to continually monitor.

just a theory
