Today he insta-called a river check-raise on a board that had TT9 on it, with 97 and ran into someone who raised T8s in early position.

Then a few minutes later he punted off a stack, overshoving a turn, with a gutshot, with all mid-cards claiming that a late position raiser wouldn't hit a flop with mid cards on it.

The whole time he spends arguing with chat and looking miserable, and showing close-ups of himself pouting.

But I don't think most people that were upset with the outcome were being mean. They just didn't want him to bust, because they were enjoying the stream.

Earlier in chat, people were telling him to stop doing the creepy close-ups. They were telling him to stop with the badmouthing of other poker players.

I don't think Jamie can tell the different between the trolls, people who are hoping he keeps streaming, and those giving him genuine helpful advice.

Then Jamie got busy insulting his audience who claimed he doesn't play well.

Then he raised AK, got an ace high flop, bet and was called. Then Jamie checked the turn, and folded the river on a safe run-out.

He ran like God in his 45 minutes one-tabling session, getting aces over and over again, flopping straights, hitting sets, and only lost 25 dollars.

Then he spent some more time whining about his audience, and the chat.

He's still doing the creepy zoom-ins where you can only see one of his eyes.

People are still trolling his chat: Pokerstaples so if i river a draw i shudnt semi bluff????

A couple hands later Jamie tripled up with QQ.

A few hands later Jamie had the boat on a JJxxx board after a river jack, and the Villain from the first hand triple barreled (but shoved the river this time) with 42 (no hand no draw) and gave Jamie an overwhelming chip lead.

A few hands later Jamie took down first place.

Oddly enough Jamie's brother is able to stream without doing weird close-ups of one eye, or endlessly whining about chat. Matt is a natural friendly easygoing person -- everything Jamie refuses to be.

Let's assume that a one-second look at Jamie is accurate and that self-control is not his strength. Why doesn't he just mute the people he doesn't like, and let his moderators worry about the rest?

What message is he trying to send? Is he trying to get sympathy for all the hard work he went through to be dealt kings? You're going to lose 46% of the time with kings in that spot. I'm not thrilled to lose with kings when an ace flops but it's hardly unusual.

Earlier in the game he made an extremely small bluff with queen high and got called down by bottom pair and then went on and on insulting the player for his call.

The board read KJ7K8 (or something like that) and Jamie had QT.

Jamie wasn't doing anything to engage with his audience who were busy fighting about politics in the chat.
The people who spread negativity bark the loudest and hurt the most. You should use your own advice and not watch the stream, then he wouldn't have to read your "constructive" analysis afterwards...

Why do people get offended when there is criticism? So we should all just heap praise on Staples, despite all his obvious flaws and shortcomings?

The only argument I hear from Staples supporters is 'lol you must be a hater/jealous/angry'. Nothing of substance, just ad hom attacks.

I say give Staples credit if he deserves it, but no one should be immune to criticism.

Today he busted the Big 109. He called a 15bb shove with KQ and lost to JJ. The jack flopped a set, so there wasn't even a sweat.

A couple hands later he shoved 15bb KTo from the cutoff and ran into AK.

A couple minutes later even though he was still in two tournaments, he said he wasn't finishing his daily tournament schedule, and was ending his stream. He's actually still live in the Big 27. He just lost a big pot on a 626 flop to pocket twos. No idea what Jamie had.

Maybe when he comes back to streaming in a few days or weeks he'll be more into it.

-He routinely streams to an audience of up to 4k viewers
-Was invited to and played in a high stakes game with Hellmuth, Antonio, Phil Laak and others
-Sponsored by the world's biggest pokersite, PokerStars
-Most recently was invited to chill with Bill Perkins and others in the Virgin Islands on a boat

This is all from a no name poker player who made a name for himself. Most of the criticisms in this thread are from lowlife trolls.

So he knows a few famous people and got sponsored because he's a losing fish who brings in fun players. Big deal. None of your points relate to his poker skill.

The bottom line is he is awful at poker and you can see that from watching his streams for a few minutes + his long term results. Not to mention his weight, smoking etc.

Some of the delusional trolls seem to think he's an unsuccessful streamer in Twitch. This is the twitch subforum btw. I'm not going to debate his skill level. Do you do the same in Jcarver's thread? I've never seen Jaime claim to be a crusher.

Not interested in his weight or smoking.

AI'd guess those pros are looking for new fresh fish to keep the games running. They see how bad Staples is at poker and want to see how much of a pokerstars war chest he has to donate. Perkins is a business man. I'd guess the free ride on the stream boat will pay for itself sooner or later watching Staples play he can play in my home game anytime.

Re: Jaime Staples

i`m really wondering why there should be one twitcher that`s best / has the best content / entertains best etc

i myself am stealing pieces of information / advices that i consider valuable from all over the streams, regardless of host.

and on top of that, why should i try to convince other persons that my favorite streamer is actually the best one there but their favorite choices are borderline pieces of ****e.

Just had a skim of this thread and you've spent hours of your time attacking some rando twitch streamer. I don't know about jealousy, anger etc, but I wouldn't say it's ad hom for people to call you a bit of a loser. Just don't watch bro.

This is a big deal. I don't know what world you live in, but mine involves making money off of "losing fish/fun players." A larger quantity of them making a larger amount of losing plays is great!

Funny you say none of reliable's points relate to his poker skill, and then you hypocritically point out his weight, smoking, etc., at the end of your post, like that does relate. Obv troll.

i think you can play poker for a living and still be in shape.

but i agree the most part, there`s a lot of hypocrisy roaming freely on the internetz. poker wise and not only, standing behind a PC with an internet connection brings out the worst in some ppl.
