Think shaman being hugely slept on

I've seen tons of it lately. The concede spirit echo shaman is good at outvaluing most control decks. The token shaman might be better than token druid.

Thrall does have a lot of good cards.

I just lost to a quest priest running 2x Freed from Amber, Umbra and Youthful Brewmaster.

I'm gong to assume Brewmaster is only in the deck to combo with Umbra. wtf

cliffs:

-- too much RNG, mostly referring to mages
-- meta gets stale too quickly
-- hard for F2P players
-- No one wants to play the Heroic Brawl

I think these are reasonable points but some things are contradictory. For one, it's a card game with 2 opponents, you can't really say that the RNG is going to create an overall negative experience for the participants. It's zero sum.

Also, being concerned for F2P players is legit, but changing up the few good cards they have every couple of weeks to satisfy the regular grinders who get bored of the new meta after a couple of weeks doesn't make sense. I think real grinders are really oblivious to how casual the casual players are.

I have friends who play every day and have no idea what's going on. One friend was so excited about "discovering" pirate warrior in March that he grinded all the way to rank 5 in April and didn't open a single Un'goro pack for 5 weeks. Another didn't have any idea who Patches was.

I really agree that Arena is in a bad spot, the oppressiveness of mages is annoying.

I think they should power down the discovery cards; people getting 5 Ice Blocks or 4 Tirions a game should basically never happen.

Mathematically, yes. Cognitively, no. Negativity bias is a hell of a drug.

actually it can be negative sum. kripps argument, and i agree, is that the bad rng is worse for the losing player than it is good for the winning player

unclear if you are right here, its just speculation. but i know from MY perspective ive been wanting nerfs and buffs for 2 years, and the ONE time they did, everyone loved it

Yes, discover is a great mechanic that they totally overdid

Kripp is a moron that doesn't really understand competitive HS. He'd be completely average in constructed if he tried.

I mean F2P, meh. The most competitive decks right now are pretty cheap and not hard to play. I find it a dumb thing to whine about, especially since he doesn't give two ****s about new player experience, he just wants to whine.

This meta lasted longer than any previous meta before going "stale" and honestly I don't think it really is. Things are still shifting around. Again, something he wouldn't understand because he doesn't play competitively or even read/follow things about it.

RNG is probably in its best spot right now. No random flame juggler bull**** lose the game on turn 2, no more yogg, no more game losing rag shots (discounting taunt warr sulfuras RNG, which is only really a thing in the mirror). discover is actually pretty low variance and anti-RNG when you think about it, so whining about that is dumb too. I like the mechanic and think discover cards are a little undercosted but it's still really good for the game.

Most of the time his whining comes off as him trying to pimp the card game he's been heavily involved with making. What is it, Eternal? I forget.

of course, the biggest problem this game has right now is the ladder/HCT system and how ****ing bad it is, I didnt watch all of his rant and cant be bothered to, but I'm guessing he didnt address that at all.

Kripp went 12-0 yesterday with his best deck ever -- a mage deck with 4 glyphs and lots of elementals and Servant of Kalimos, rated a 78.6, I watched half the games and they all seemed effortless.

I have to disagree with a lot of your assessment. It was a long time ago hut when I watched him cast a tournament he was actually really competent. His constant placing in the arena leaderboard speaks for itself too. In the context of arena the discover mechanic is way stronger than in constructed and kind of annoying.
When playing against mage these days you basically just drop your hand and prey while you tried to bait certain cards and play around others in the past.

I think Kripp is trying to place himself as the voice of r/hearthstone, often I would see a complaint thread on Reddit then kripp would make a video about it.

For arena, they need to redo the spell offering bonus, because that's why epic spells like glyph and meteor are showing up in peoples decks so much.

Besides PW and silence priest, is there a tier 1 deck in Wild that doesn't need Dr. Boom?

Priest in standard is just fun right now. Lyra is such an exceptional card.
