Someone was not happy about losing. I think he may be missing the mark on ranking up by playing a high volume of quick games.

just ran into pirate warrior that played turn 1 crab, turn 2 crab. Isn't that tanking your EV for every other matchup? It's not like PW can easily make up for dead draws.

I wonder if the 3 mana option might be better. At worst it's a 3 mana 3/3 which is on par with the floor of Curious Glimmerroot. At best it's a 5 mana 3/5 that draws a card, with the dream of drawing multiple cards. It would act as a pseudo-taunt against aggro the same way cleric does, and against control it's something you can draw and be happy about later in the game.

Not saying that it would be a great card or make it in to a lot of constructed decks, but I think it's something that will exist at some point. Sort of like Mana Geode - not in a lot of constructed decks but you can make it work.

If you mean Hungry Crab, PW doesn't have that many 1 drops anymore, and there are definitely spots where playing Deckhand without charge just to draw Patches isn't optimal. A 1 mana 1/2 is perfectly solid.

Every paladin is a bad matchup FWIW.

Yeah, I've been rolling over PW with my murloc pally. The only chance they have is if they get lucky with early crabs.

That priest deck is fun but I honestly feel that the dragon version is just better. Operative and Drake are so OP and being able to potion without nuking your own board is great.

the inevitability of a string of losses to quest rogues makes that deck super unappealing to me

it doesn't matter what i do against them. something like a 2-16 record against them.

Made it to legend for the month! Final push was with Elemental Shaman, as I was facing a lot of Rogues and the deck just absolutely farms them. Think I went 9-0 vs various Rogue archetypes from 3-legend.

Also, hitting an aggro Druid's living mana board with Devolve+Clear is so damn moreish it should be made illegal.

Got legend, my second one. Hit the final boss 3 times, the last one conceded turn 1 to me. Was a bit anti-climactic.

Felt a lot easier now than before. Last time I started on the 1st, tracked my stats, carefully planned out how many games I needed to play and kept a schedule. Now I didn't even start playing until the 10th, had no goal to get to legend, just played whatever I felt like until I reached level 3 and switched to murloc pally for the final push.

Anybody else feel like legend is easier now than before? Is there legend inflation caused by the cutoffs at level 5, 10 and 15? Or is the meta softer because of the standard rotation and the general population being slow learners? I felt like people were still making pretty atrocious simple mistakes at rank 1.

Umbra just seems too slow and too costly. If the card was stealth for a turn then it'd have a shot.

Grats. It's probably easier with the threshold, but for me, even when i'm playing meme decks I rarely lose stars for it to even matter.

So rank 5-3 might be filled with win streaking bads that normally wouldnt be there. I think it's just the meta is so unstable it gives room for a lot more decks to have a positive WR. Keep in mind the rank floors were released like a month or two ago and you didnt see a huge influx of legend players like this month has.

Next month i'm going to play quest rogue to 5, i'm determined to learn it. Cant find a streamer that regularly plays it.

Tyler plays it but he'll play any good deck. Xixo plays it on and off. But most streamers won't stream it because it's boring to watch and the same **** every game but when it works, it obviously kills.

Wrt to the influx of legends this month, a lot of it is down to people (i.e. Me) regaining interest in the game following the xpac. I've not done the legend grind in a while, and had little to no interest in going past rank 5 in a lot of the recent metas. This month it barely even felt like a grind, I switched up decks an awful lot, had heaps of fun, and still made it with a few days to spare.

I don't have the time to make the push this weekend, maybe I'll try next month, I essentially have until the 20th to do it. Really want to get there at some point.

It's way more of a complicated deck than it looks, not only do you have to stay alive from the inevitable beatdown, you often have to plan three or four turns in advance


Yea legend for me has been just me playing at my normal win rate but way more games

Makin, you could go back in the archives and find some great players using it. Kolento was grinding it pretty hard at high legend a couple days ago. Sjow had a similar push and was using a non-traditional deck that used Swashburglars (I think the good players mostly dropped it) and Edwin.

It's a very difficult deck to play when you don't draw the nuts, IMO. I had moderate success with it at LUL ranks but it's become unplayable for me since hitting 5 (too many hunters/PWs/burn mages).

Agreed that it's slow, but I think it still works because you're playing it in deathrattle-based decks when also tend to be slow. You can't even get Nzoth til turn 9 with coin at the earliest, so I think umbra can add some much needed tempo during the midgame.

I'm not in love with it enough to blow 1600 dust on it, but if I happened to open one at some point I'd love to try it out.
