In other news, quest rogue is hot garbage. Even the supposedly super-favored matches like taunt warrior are basically 55-45 in the rogue's favor.

Same. Then I tried playing it myself.

I personally think quest rogue is a high skill deck but has a high floor so it's tough to even beat some bad players but there is a giant gap between those bad and really good with the deck. In contrast, I think pirate warrior is a low skill deck and there is a difference between good and bad but the difference isn't huge. Both decks can have unreal openings but that's true about a number of all in type decks like aggro druid.

I think that's very true. I can't play the deck for ****. But it's being played at fairly significant numbers still at high legend so I have to assume it's a good deck. I'm pretty sure xixo or someone has been top 10 with it this whole season

I mean, any deck that can't close the game out in 6-8 turns is in danger of losing automatically. That has to be good. It dumps all over control and can hold its own against aggro/MR with good draws. I'm playing mostly control dragon priest and I've had 4 dragonfire potion games where I still lose, and I thought that card would be good against them -___-

i'm still bouncing between 1000-2000 right now and they're all over the place, but it seems 50% paladin at least. n'zoth control shammys are coming out of the woodworks to counter them, that deck's annoying and volcano is a really good card

Decks being good at high legend is mostly because they don't queue into counterdecks with as much frequency as everyone else. I watch Laughing a lot and I don't see very many hunters playing at those ranks. And hunter farms quest rogue.

There are a lot of hunters at high legend ranks. There's a lot of everything, except I think maybe PW and fast decks are a little less represented.

Quest rogue is definitely a deck you could take to legend though.

You can take every deck to legend, within reason. Doesn't change the fact that quest rogue has a sub-50% winrate vs the field (at legend and higher). Its a low tier-3 deck.

Where are those hunters when you watch people in the top 100? I've seen a few on Laughing's stream. I didn't see any when Yagut was still up there.

The classes I see most are Mage, Druid, Paladin, Rogue (it seemed to be split between miracoli and quest) currently on the high Legend streams. Whenever I see hunter I assume that the person is counterqueueing other people on purpose.

There are, if you think there aren't, I honestly just don't know what to tell you.

Can someone explain this one to me? I'm not getting how this is a "Tier 1" deck if it's a 40-60 dog to 7 of 15 decks profiled. What am I missing?

You do know high legend is only the top 100 + some change? There's not much visual evidence that there are a lot of hunters at those ranks. Those are the players with the minimum amount of misplays and after that you get the general populace of grinders.

I'm not saying there's 0 hunters. I'm saying it isn't the same % as R25 - L200ish or worse. Which has a positive effect on quest rogue winrates.

There seems to be a 5-6% difference between hunter populations of R1-20 and Legend. It has to dip even more than higher up Legend you go. Maybe not that much, but some.

So Xixo's bad match ups are less often. Better results for crystal rogue at his rank.

It's kind of why the whole "But if vS was around when patron was around they would have ranked it t3" is dumb. Your match ups change in legend. Especially high legend. The highest I ever got was somewhere around 250 and I started to notice decks just counterqueueing one another.

LOL this post on so many levels, I just can't dude. Yes I know what high legend is. Hunters make up over 10% of the decks on legend ladder currently. I see no huge difference in some arbitrary legend rank and the top 100. In fact, it gets more aggro the higher you go up. I know because um, I actually have been playing a lot of ladder lately.

R25-L200 is like... such a huge range. Comparing that ridiculous sample to some arbitrary <L25 amount is going to show differences.

Like you're literally basing this off some stream you watch and some weird extrapolation of data from R5-1 and Legend ranks.

Complaining about netdecking and people sharing strategies is like saying "You shouldn't be driving in a car because you personally didn't invent the concept of an automobile and build it yourself." I get that it takes some of the fun out of the discovery part of a meta but there's nothing you can do about it.

It isn't arbitrary. I don't know how you don't understand that the top 100 + change are the people who play HS for a living or dump insane amounts of time in the game to the point they simply rarely misplay at all.

The comparison is valid when it comes to what decks people are playing at different ranks. People play hunter 16% outside of legend and 10% inside of it. I'm sure if you had the data of people play most of the month in the top 100 it might even be less than that. If you watch those streams you sometimes don't see them queue into hunters at all or 1 or 2 in however long they stream.

Bolded isn't relevant. Hunter is a bad match up for quest rogue, not all aggro. Go look at the VS report.

Your argument was quest rogue is good because Xixo is playing it at a high level. Even if the only real difference is 15-16% to 10% hunter population differences it will effect his winrate positively. It's 5 or 6 matches out of 100 that are more likely favorable to him. If you cannot grasp that simple concept, good lord.

If there's a relatively large drop in hunter population as rank increases it's reasonable to suppose that the mean 10% hunter rate in legend is unevenly distributed and there are fewer hunters at higher ranks, perhaps much fewer. This adds significant EV to decks which match up poorly with hunters.

Welp finally hit the legend dumpster last night with aggro druid running 2x crab (which literally did nothing). Might try to climb a little before going full gate keeper mode.

Ty ty. Not quite sure how I got there. Didn't feel like I put in much volume and the WR didn't feel good. I guess winning 10 or so in a row with mage helped.

I'm stubbornly grinding it out with a variety of rogue decks. I got to 5 mostly win streaking with burgle/tempo rogue, but I'm starting to get decent at miracle, and I find it hard to believe anyone thinks quest is better.

Not quite in try hard mode, maybe I'll give this token druid a try.

Savjz is playing almost the exact same Kazakus-Pyros-Nzoth elemental mage I tried out a week ago. It felt too slow to me but I'm sure he'll make it work.
