I do think noobs overvalue taunt minions; if you go into casual mode to test a deck, someone is going to hit you with turn 1 elven archer and then play a bunch of cheapass taunts. So people like that probably think the deck is amazing.
I don't see myself ever playing it much, just about every other meta deck is more fun, and off-meta stuff like Burgle Rogue/Ramp Druid and even Handlock are more entertaining.
I agree the new Miracle rogue is the most fun it's ever been. It was way more frustrating when they go QA/GA into a billion spells and conceal.
