i like it but it forces warrior decks to run whirlwind which might be a huge downside in a slow meta.

Althoughhhhh it owns 3-4 big jades with the full combo

Running that with whirlwind, ghoul and sleep with fishes is pretty good.

Also yup, curator gets a pretty big overall buff in this xpac.

The obvious combo is with whirlwind for a Deathwing-like effect.

BTW, how come Varian Wrynn never saw much play? Seems super powerful, 10 mana you get a 7/7 body + a combination of 3 card draws and minions played. Like Malkorok, it was used a bit in tempo warrior when it first came out and then fell off the map.

people said sleep with the fishes was bad, ended up seeing some decent play.

i don't think that's a bad card, in a vacuum. i doubt there will be a deck it fits in this expansion.

on the surface it would seem so but curator is losing the staple dragon Azure drake, and a slew of other decent dragons. Murlocs are trash unless you have some type of finja water deck (I do think water decks will be powerful this expansion, just need to say that now). I don't know if curator is gonna be all that useful with azure drake gone, that card really put a ton of value into curator because you can always find room for an azure drake in any deck, toss in a beast and finley and wham. Finley's gone too.

Because he was doing the opposite of what Control Warrior wanted to do. Control Warrior was all about throwing down single threats and forcing your opponent to deal with it. Including Varian suddenly made Brawl/Lightbomb etc useful while also bringing you closer to fatigue and a loss. There were also some battlecries you really couldn't afford to lose, like Golden Monkey.

The matchups were Varian was useful, against aggro/tempo, you were probably already winning if you made it to turn 10.

hunter 3 drops have so much competition. It's really hard for something new to see play. Don't think that one will even though it's pretty strong i think.

I think Jmakin makes a really good point in that losing Azure Drake really hurts Curator, really hurts tons of decks. It was honestly a pretty big mistake, I think, to take Azure Drake out of Standard (I'm all for dumping Rag/Sylvanas).

Theer's not really another dragon you'd want to add to midrange decks if you don't have Azure Drake.

However, everyone wanted Control Warrior to have a counter to Jades and there you go.

I may be wrong but it still seems like Hunter is screwed.

Hunter needs sticky minions, board control tools and direct damage. What it doesn't need are slow minions and cards that sacrifice tempo for later value. Finding a way to give the class some card draw would be nice, too.

Is this the first new card that is balanced for wild and not standard? Cause as it stands it seems like garbage in standard, and only reasoning I can think of is because how powerful muster into that will be on curve in a secret paladin deck. Maybe there is another powerful recruit spamming card yet to be released? That 1 mana 2 recruit spell isn't good enough for this to work.

edit: There's also the neutral 4 mana 5/4 "adapt your murlocs" card, which seems pretty comparable, and this is a class card with 2 less attack??
