Season starts on Wednesday and big DFS gets going on Thursday.

DK made a few changes to their scoring with PIMs going away and SOG increasing from 0.3 to 0.5. They also removed wing requirements which is great, there is now only a W position as opposed to LW/RW.

One thing of one is that for the 30k and other games this Thursday is that full stacking is available. They're fixing this and eliminating it for future sets, but it sticks for this week.

That lineup actually leaves $3.9k on the table and obviously Beau Bennett is out injured. In any case, worth noting that you can in fact stack to your heart's content, at least for this week, should you desire.

Salaries seem to be on the soft side right now. I haven't peeked at other sites as I pretty much stick to DK at this point.

Let's do this and I hope to see hockey getting bigger this year. Soccer's been a success so far, so I see no reason hockey can't reach new heights.

Tempted to avoid the Wednesday slate, just so much overlap on a 4 game night. Doesn't seem like there's much of an edge to be had.

if you were going to try and bink the the 30k on DK this week, would you just run out like 10 full team stacks? without +/- seems like your upside might be limited.

Soft is an understatement. DK hockey pricing is pretty bad.

It's a shame too because winger flexibility and exclusion of PIMs are nice tweaks.

DK historically has very loose pricing the first week or so then they correct. Been that way since they launched, and it's in every single sport.

It'll get better as the season goes on. I remember at some point in the baseball season you could choose the best player at each position and only be $1,100 over.

I mean into Week 5, there's still way too much DK NFL pricing that leaves me scratching my head.

You guys notice when they tweaked baseball pricing around late July early August? And by tweak I mean blow it all to hell. if you wanted top pitching it went from very tough, try to fit Matt Adams or Alex Gordon in as your 3rd or 4th best hitter, and round out with a couple dog**** guys just because they were top of the order that day. To pitch the best and Matt Adams is your weakest "punt" overnight. The only reason I bring it up is that I think super soft pricing is the new trend at DK based on that, NFL pricing jn the early going, and the vibe I got from FE in a RG thread where some fish were bitching about sharp pricing.

General thoughts on W slate?

Bruins seem like obvious #1 team to target. Not very high on SJ/LA game but might end up with Kopitar/Gaborik, will probably have some exposure to Pacioretty line, maybe a Sedin twin, Rask in net.

I would get some exposure to LA, they are currently -140 2nd biggest favorite behind Bruins. Get feeling LA won't be heavily owned here. Seems like everyone will be on Bruins and Rask.

Yeah, I'm coming around on LA. Also considering skipping the slate entirely. Probably the better move for my bankroll lol

Will be playing the W slate, but more because Ive missed hockey than I love the slate. Assuming it will be Rask heavy, so Quick seems viable.

I agree. As much as I wanted to fade Bruins I ended up going Bergeron and marchand. And Reilly for value.

Fairly new to DFS but I'm a hockey nut. My biggest passion by far. Been addicted to DFS for the last month for Football and ready to go straight degen with hockey. When I get addicted to something I go all in, full obsession. Was that way with Xbox, Poker, etc. Just my personality.

Been spending the last day or two trying to read up on as much as I can about strategies and such for DFS hockey. Playing mostly GPPs tonight with a few 50/50s thrown in. Going to stack two lines for most entries, with a few random lineups sprinkled in.

I'm all in on Ryan Miller tonight. That Flames roster is atrocious. Vancouver will be much improved this year IMO with the new coaching staff. Torts wasn't the right fit for that team. Expecting a bounce back year for the Sedins. Vrbata has looked good as their RW in the pre-season. Have D.Sedin/H.Sedin/R.Vrbata stacked in most lineups, along with either B.Marchand/P.Bergeron/R.Smith or JVR/Bozak/Kessel. Going with the no opponents of my goaltenders strategy also.

Not sold on Rask being an automatic W tonight. Philly has a high powered offense. Lethal PP. This isn't the same Bruins team. Banged up a bit and they just dealt Boychuk, defense is a bit weaker and more inexperienced. Vegas says Boston is the biggest favorite of the night but I don't think it's as much of a sure thing.

Really looking forward to tomorrow night with so many games and options.

I love t which probably means it sucks. Had smith in my first lineup and upgraded to Gallagher because of extra salary, which will probably kill me.

Well in GPPs, we're shooting for highest ceiling, correct? Ideally you'd want a shutout from your goalie. If you have say Giroux and Voracek with Rask in net, isn't that counter productive? If Rask has his shutout, those two get you squat. If they have a good game, then Rask will not. Or if they do and say Bruins win 4-3, Rask gets the 3 PTs for a win but -3 for GA so again counterproductive I think. Again fairly new to this but to me it makes sense. Kind of how you wouldn't choose a QB and his opposing DST.
