Funny thing about the Glock - see the little switch on the trigger? That IS the safety. Not what you would consider a typical safety, I think.

So, in the picture, the safety is actually on, because the trigger is not depressed at all yet.

I was always told don't touch it at all unless you're ready to fire. Apparently I'm not the only one, but I don't claim to be an expert, so I could be wrong.

And not to be confused with your first post on the subject. CCL does not presume sufficient training and time on the range. Far from it.

And still...there is nothing like the assurance you implied. You could have a gun at your head and your gun in your holster before you know what happened. No matter how much training. That is the Hollywood part in your post. You gave a guarantee, and you weren't even there.

Assuming he is seething mad and there is an intense argument as the article describes, and/or he is has made threats, and goes to his truck my eyes are on him the whole time until he drives off. Even then I would be concerned he may drive back. You cannot be prepared for everything but it is pretty cut and dry in this situation.

Re: Three brothers shot at Houston Home game.

I met one of the Virginia Tech students who was shot in 2007. He said people are always telling him what they would have done if they were in his shoes, with or without a gun. He tries not to be hurt or offended by their remarks. But he says they don't know what they are talking about, because they weren't there. I agree with him.

Re: Three brothers shot at Houston Home game.

It's a little different than the "if I had a gun scenario." I chose to purchase a handgun for self-defense, have trained on the range regularly and made the choice and commitment to go through licensing to be able to carry a handgun.
