Yeah, my "side" of the discussion is to either round up or down based on the same logic you want to use for arbitrary decisions about how much the first limped action should be, how big the first pot action should be, if straddles should be allowed and how big they should be, and even how to round pot sizes for speed of betting.
Take two 1/2 games.
- One rounds everything and allows/encourages a button straddle. UTG can open for 20 and be re-popped for 70+.
- The other plays exact and round nothing. UTG can open for 7 and can be re-popped for 24.
Game A can play three times bigger than game B, despite them both being 1/2 games.
Want something between A and C? You can construct game C to have a $4 UTG straddle, count the blinds as $2 each and it's only $16 and $56 on the re-pot, still only 2/3 the size of game A.
Regardless, all sorts of structures are possible. 1-2-7-24? 1-2-8-28? 1-2-10-35? 1-2-S4-15-42? 1-2-S5-20-70 or S5-1-2-20-70?
My stance is pick one that maintains the size game you want to play.
We have a single $1 blind, and optional $2 (sleeper) straddle, and count exact pot size. It's either 1-3-10 or 1-S2-7-24.
[Yes, I realize I might have screwed up some numbers. I have a cold. Sue me.]
