A PSA from your friendly poker host (with credit to eneely I think, someone wisr than me suggested this a while back):
When introducing your group to games that are higher-action than NLHE, such as Omaha or in my group's case, 6 Plus HE, I recommend opting for spread limit vs pot limit or no limit. My group generally plays NL50, with about half the people bringing no more than 120-200 for an evening. Usually plenty for NLHE. Last week we played just 45 minutes of 6 Plus HE, and I insisted on playing with a $10 max bet postflop. (Someone can bet 10 and another can raise to 20, but no individual bet could exceed $10.) One of the deep pockets grumbled, but it went exactly as I predicted, which is that in less than 30 min we had 2 guys felted. Everyone loved the action, but the money flies quick.
I find this holds true for limit games as well, during a round of HORSE. People are like, oh limit, can't chase anyone out of a pot, and as a result, no one leaves a pot, and they get bigger than our average NLHE pot. Pretty much anything new, where everyone thinks they have a good hand, is sure to bust a bankroll if you're not careful.
