Pali, there is a celebrity shot that fits the sport!

All live sports are great, but some sports are much better live. I think hockey is so much better live than on TV. And there are great seats all around the rink.

Televised football is as good as televised sports get, in my opinion. Live vs televised has its pros and cons. Live you can see the whole field and how the play develops. But televised has all of the replays from every angle, and the large ball and field works well on TV.

When I still lived in RDU, I went to Hurricanes games all the time. Then they won the Cup and prices jumped. My former $12 seats were now $25.

I know what you mean, but still so cheap. Fans of some teams fly into rdu because they can get tickets, and they are relatively cheap. Certainly if they are here on business. Get a ticket to see the Canadiens in Montreal? Forget about it.

Anybody own a Wii U? The Wii that my kids love is starting to show its age, and I'm thinking Santa might upgrade them for Christmas.

I understand that third-party titles are rather thin, but I think there are a few titles that they would like (Mario Kart 8, Super Mario World 8). Also, I love the idea of using the gamepad as a second screen so that the rest of the family can watch TV while my 9-year-old Super Mario Galaxy junkie gets her fix.

A friend of mine has one and likes it. Apparently you can download titles all the way back to the NES. Some games can run screen-only, while some have to use the TV (I think the new Zelda has to go on the TV).

You're sure Santa is upgrading for 'them', right?

Daddy has his 360 in the mancave, so it's mostly for them. I won't lie, though. I may be involved in a few fights over the gamepad on Christmas morning.

One of the guys on CT mentioned Wii U refurbs from the Nintendo Store for $200, so I pulled the trigger. It should be waiting when I get back from Vegas on Sunday, so I'll be able to, um, confirm that it's a good unit before Santa puts it under the tree.
