I was going to buy an Ace King 100ct. chip set from pokerchipmania.com and was wondering if anyone can find a coupon for me to get a discount.. They have a coupon code option but I cant seem to find one. thanks for the help.

How many do you need and what is your budget? There's good, and then there's GOOD.

500-1000, not to sure about budget. Probably don't need top of the line, but decent would be nice

Is buying small amounts useful to get an idea of what chip to get?

Yes, as Larry said, register at chiptalk and order the free sample pack. Samples are a great way to see first hand which chips you like.

get samples, but I would order them from a retailer. The chiptalk sampler seems to be not happening right now.

chiptalk has a lot of information, but man are they dysfunctional sometimes.

While I've heard good things about everybody on djexacto's list, I've personally dealt with both Gene at ABC and Jim at The Chip Room. Both of those guys provide great products and stellar customer service, you won't go wrong with either.
