Modiano is most durable so far for me.
The Modiano's are my favorite plastic cards.

I to run into fading, cracking, and bowing problems with most brands of plastic after one or two cleanings.

The Modiano's do seem thicker than they are. They even look thick(pic).
I placed a deck of Modiano and Copag set side by side; The Modiano deck was two cards higher.

I don't know about playing poker with a 54 card deck...

He gave a good history of his various generations of cards and the success he has had with his latest edition including HIGH MARKS for the plastic card stock used. He also talked about what's next.

Great Guy . . . met him at an Expo. I have an uncut sheet of the Victorian line framed for Poker nights. Much nicer than the dogs . . .

+1

While I haven't met him personally, I've spoken to him several times via email. Great product, outstanding service, and he just strikes me as a really nice guy.

Worth it. I've used kems, copags, and prestiges. The desjgns are my fav. Big fan.

Me too, me too! I don't have quite the addiction collection that some of you appear to have, but something is just very visually pleasing about the Desjgn cards compared to the Copags I have. I got the bridge sized "classic culture" in black and silver backs, and no one has mentioned anything about the odd pip placement in my group.

Question: Do the Modiano Platinum Acetate's come in bridge size? The only one's I've seen are poker sized, so if anyone knows where to find PA's in bridge sized...

I don't think so. I have only seen poker sized.

Yep, just looked these up on Modiano's website. What I've got are the Club Bridge model, green/brown backs. We've been pretty happy with them.

The Platinums look pretty cool, I'd pull the trigger on a couple of setups if they were offered in the narrow bridge size. I also have a preference for green/brown backs vice red/blue (I readily concede there's no rational basis for this).

I always buy red/blue, unless they are not available. Then I go for whatever looks cool. Caragails is a very good e-tailer for cards. There is also a place near me (Toronto) that stocks a good selection.

Milo I'm a setup degen just like you. I think i have over 80! I agree with everything Palindrome has said. I also love the desjns and think they deserve a spot at any table. I love the Piatniks.

Do people at your games like using the 4 colour decks? I like them, but people seem to unanimously hate them?

I have one Copag 4 color, but it's poker-sized, so I've never actually used it...

But when I think about it, I've won a few huge pots from drunks who thought there were four spades on the board, so I'm sticking with standard 2 color for that reason alone

The online and Omaha players in my group love them.

I would not mind a four colour deck if I found one that did not use washed out colours for the blue and green. I know they need to stand apart from the red/black, but the ones I have seen up close look horribad.

This was our experience. In moderately bright light, it made diamonds and clubs more difficult to distinguish, not easier.

I agree that it is hard to see the colors in low light. The one thing it did reduce was people confusing board cards. With something like two diamonds and a heart on the flop it made you look twice.

Same.

I ordered three setups for the club last night to replace fading/warn/missing/nicked/cut cards.

I very much enjoy the Carte Mundi cards, but I find they easily develop nicks in them at the 2-o'clock and 7-o'clock positions (or 10 and 4 if you prefer) from shuffling/peeking. It's a combination of the cards and my players, I'm sure. I love the cards enough to have ordered one of the three setups that way, at least.

I'm traveling this week, or I'd include images.

I finally broke down and bought some DesJgn cards last night. I do not like the ace design. They're already over stylized for me. ...but you guys keep gushing over them, so I ordered them in a pair of obnoxious colors (purple/orange - go Suns! - effing NBA, hope they all go bankrupt). And then a set of Modiano, which I have only had previously in 4-color options, so they haven't seen much play.

Went to a friend's game last night, she broke out a new setup of Da Vinci's. Good playability; in thickness/stiffness/texture, seemed very similar to the Modiano Club Poker cards that I've been using, the crowd liked 'em. Time will tell regarding durability; I'll be interested to see how they hold up.

I bought a setup of Da Vinci's once. Once. (obligatory)

They're made by Modiano, looked like Modiano Poker Clubs and were a bit cheaper - SCORE, right? Once I got them, though, they just didn't feel quite the same. They were a little thinner and didn't have that same rough papery texture that Modianos have. Maybe I'm picky, but I gave them away and didn't buy them again.
