There are many , many , rules , structures and concepts that should be virtually universal in a poker game. No argument at all. Most groups do adhere to most of these concepts. My point is that there is NO authority that enforces a home group to do anything. So from time to time a crew will devise solutions and "house rules" that they are comfortable with. This is simply the way home game groups operate. Outsiders can disagree and may even be right , BUT it does not matter after all. I am not going to do things differently because some stranger on a forum may insist we are in the wrong. I will do things differently if I , as host , or my crew become uncomfortable with how we are doing things.

Again , I must repeat , all opinions should be welcome and considered.

i sense this is a freidnly home game where people drinks and just mess around, so to begin with the resolution shouldnt be a big deal, it helps if you get some basic ground rules regarding the most basic poker rules, like declaring your hand, chip placing, missdeals, etc.

Never thought of it until you mentioned it, but that's certainly a possibility.
Wait, didn't you have the 4th King? If he dealt from his hole cards he shouldn't have any Ks since there are two in the community cards, one on his hand and yours in the muck. Also, no burn card?

I had one, one came on the board, and he was dealt two. However, he (could have) dealt one of his kings as the river card. He "knew" he had a pair of kings, so when two kings came on the board, he "knew" he had quads.

And we don't burn.

With no burn that's almost certainly what happened.
But why no burn?

We play Big O/PLO round by round. We can play 9 handed if we don't burn.
Just allows us to get another player in our home game.
