You want to play carnival games at the end of the hand.
Your opponents do too.

Well said. Either show your cards or dont show them. Why create a circle-jerk guessing game?

Re: Offered to show one of my cards, they look at both, what to do?

We play a variation of Big-O. A new guy folded to a big river bet, and the player making the bet told him to pick 2 cards and spread the 5 down. Better was on my left, new guy on my right. After a brief delay, I picked up all 5, turned them over, pointed to the 2 that made the nuts and told new guy to pick those 2. Better was not pleased, but probably won't do it again.

FFS, just move along to the next hand. Want to show? Great, then show.

I'm sure it's over the line, and that I like it.

Sounds a bit harsh. This adds a bit of fun to the game for many people. But I guess I wouldn't complain if I were goofing around like this. If you don't want both shown, just ask if they want to see one and you flip it. This is not such a big deal guys.

Agree with spike, When I went to homegames, Me and the majority of people go there to have fun and not to play the most possible hands per hour to satisfy their poker addiction or maximise their hourly

You guys should probably chill a bit more or just go to a casino instead

Its not just about speed. I just don't get what you think is fun about this. OHHHH!!!! I offered to let you see one of my cards ....... great fun ......

But if you find that fun .... why don't you find it fun when the other guy flips up both cards .... that would seem to be twice the fun.

Lol +1

I play at a semi serious home leafy, and when this happens in the tourney (usually by one of the new players) the guy who runs the game insists both cards must be shown. Show one show all; cards and players

I nominate that for Stupidest House Rule in the Universe.

Playing in homegames should be considered a privilege. Whatever stupid rules they make I abide by without question. Show one show all? No problem. 2 cards to win? **** it I dont care. The fishiness of the games is quite simply worth the hassle. Dont complain about people doing stupid ****.

Haha, I would love to give this a shot someday. Someone offers to show me a card and I snap flip over both and proclaim that it's double the fun.

Of course, I'd need to do it in friendly company lest I risk suffering a swift chop to the throat.

Re: Offered to show one of my cards, they look at both, what to do?

Same game last night. Player who offered to show 2 of 5 cards, flipped 1 card (to show a pair on a 4-straight board) after his uncalled river bet. Went to muck the other and another player flipped it (showing the straight). He was moderately upset that the 2nd card got shown, and the rest of the table (tongue in cheek) insisted that we thought he meant to show both, and mistakenly just showed the first.

Curious to see what happens next game. Happens that the player he bet out of the pot was the same guy both times, a newcomer to our game.

In 2006 when the WSOP had adopted this stupid show one card show them both rule. Eventually players figured out the way around this was to muck the card you didn;t want to show first ..... then show the other.
