Yeah this doesn't appear to be the case anymore...I sent an email two days ago asking if they could offer a lower price for a full set of the chips, since they were charging .42 per chip while Apache only charges .38, which is a $12 difference. Still no response to the email after 48 hours, you would think they would like to sell their product by replying to a simple email during the business week, but I guess not.

So at this rate I'll be ordering 300 Pharoah chips from Apache for $114, let me know if anyone knows of a better deal but that is sounding pretty sweet to me

Indeed. It should go back to the right coast after HPI2013 "Desert Heat"

Ditto . . . this is literally the first negative comment I have heard re: The Chiproom.

72 hours now and no return on my email asking "how much for a full set"

hard to believe I would place my order with them at this rate, since apache has already replied to my email and also shipped out my sample pack in less time than chiproom has taken to not answer my email.

Emails sometimes get caught by spam filters or simply missed. Have you tried emailing him a second time?

Re: New Pharoah's Chips - China Clays

thanks, second email sent....granted it's a weekend but lets see if anything comes back this time

also i guess it couldnt hurt to ask the same question in here, is he willing to cut me a deal on 300 chips, or going to tell me i have to order them all at full price?

they are 42 cents per, while apache has them for 38 cents...but I heard chiproom is where it's at as far as Customer Service, so maybe he will match or beat that price.

If my tournment was large and I needed more chips. My tournement set of course would have T25, T100, T500, T1000 and T5000.

You find that a bad idea?

I could be wrong, but I think LL was hinting that someone dishonest could pocket a cash chip used in a tourney and flip it for profit at your next cash game.

Well - we're talking about skulls (for DavidNB). So if someone in his game wants to be that way - they could do it anyway without much effort.

Yes, it could be an issue, but again if you are playing with people that that's a concern at those stakes you should probably have a custom cash set.

Re: New Pharoah's Chips - China Clays

My cash games are far and few inbetween. For my tournies, I am using a 300 chip set and thats good for 10-11 players tops. The games are friendly but, I see what you mean. One of the reasons I was going to get 500 chip NJ tourny set was I can get it free by playing online at certain sites via a third online party. This would give plenty of chips to run a two table tournment. This third party site would also give desert sands 500 chip set aswell.

The games are all friends but, still, if the cash turned up $100 short.....

IBeDrummin wins the prize.

Yes, it hopefully shouldn't be a concern, but slipping out a green chip (which won't cost you much equity in a tourney) could be tempting.... and it's easy to chalk it up to an accounting mistake, a month later.

If you group's 100% solid, then no worries. I always like to reduce the temptation, when possible.

And yes, MediaPA, I agree- it's a risk regardless, when you don't have a custom set. Something that hosts have to consider, unfortunately.
