Degen status confirmed.

Congrats jz. Glad little dude is healthy and happy. Kids are the ****.

Congradulations JZ. Welcome to fatherhood.

On a side (and less exciting) note, I held the workplace donkament last night.

Ran as expected for 2 hours. Utter donkament including (but not limited to)
People calling off bets with 90%+ of their stack and then folding on the river leaving < 1BB in their stack
Calls on the river playing the board (because I thought 3 pair was a hand)
Calling the river instead of raising all-in with the nuts
Etc. Etc.

Over half the table was playing for the first time (as you can imagine).

Despite the increadibly donktastic structure the 2 players who actually had a clue made it to the heads-up final battle.

People had fun and that's what counts in the end. Already got questions when is the next game so total win.
I plan to participate next time and we'll actually collect some nominal amount so we can have a cash prize (around $5 from each person).

He will likely take a lot of lunch money in kindergarten I wager. Good that it went well!

Congrats, sir. While it has its moments where you wonder what the hell you were thinking, fatherhood is rewarding. Enjoy it.

^ +1 This.

Congratulations!

On a scale of 1 to illegal, how hard would it be to ship Maduro to Texas? All the sites online don't ****ing ship to Texas, because of, I'm sure, some stupid liquor law dating from the 19th century.

Thanks all. We are all trying to figure out how to adjust to the new changes and spent most of last night awake with him. He loves being held and there is no shortage of that between us and the 4 grandparents who can't get enough time with him. Life is completely different (I'm already exhausted...), but I wouldn't change a thing.

On a scale of 1 to illegal, it's illegal. Texas law prohibits shipping malt beverages or liquor into the state, though wine for some reason is okay. It's all about money (duh), they don't want to lose out on tax revenue by allowing people to purchase alcohol out-of-state.

Hypothetically, someone who lives in the CCB distribution area could throw a couple six-packs in a well-padded box and ship them to you with a reasonably high probability of success.

Worst case, I'll bring some to HPI 2015.

I went for a run early Sunday evening after sleeping away most of the day post-HPI, and I saw this parked in a neighbor's driveway about a block from my house. I was a geek in high school (but not yet driving) when this movie came out, and I thought it was one of the coolest cars I had ever seen. In spite of being almost 30 years older, I still got a little bit of a surprised rush seeing it.

If only you'd known. This dude would have definitely been down for a game of Star Trek.

The Delorean design has not stood the test of time, has it? When it first came out, it looked so cool. Now it sort of resembles a Ford Pinto.

[X] Still wants a Delorean.

If you're talking about X-Wing miniatures as a "Star Trek" game, my not-so-inner geek is starting to laugh at you and rage simultaneously.

I think the look has aged a bit, but I'd still drive one today if I could get it cheaply. But like any old car, the biggest issues are a) lack of modern safety features, and b) extreme difficulty in finding replacement parts when something breaks.
