July 19-21, 2012 HPI - Aurora, IL

2012 Home Poker Invitational

Hosted by:

Update on anyvite invites thus far are below. I know we generated an interest thread prior, but again I'm doing official invites through anyvite so I can keep location details private and get a finalized count for seats.

Also for those of you that are going to be attending. I've just told my homegame group that I'm having some friends in from outta town for a meetup that weekend specifically to play cards. I would really appreciate it if you would not tap the glass so to speak and reveal how we all "know each other". You know, first rule of 2+2.....Whenever I bring in a new guy from 2+2 to the game I just mention he is an online guy and the group thinks craigslist, meetup, or chiptalk.

I'm currently a strong maybe. The other half has provisionally approved my going pending her school schedule for summer semester. As soon as I know 100%, I'll let you know. I'll be there for Friday and Saturday. I'll likely use Thursday and Sunday as driving days.

I have been approved by my better half as well. She rolled her eyes but said I should go. This may have something to do with the AC/Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun trip I'm currently planning as well.

I'm going to try to make Thursday work but I think I will have to return Sunday afternoon. I will do my best to help with the kegs during the rest of the weekend. Thanks for hosting this jzpiano!

My buddies and I are still trying to figure out which specific place we would like to go but we all want to head out east. I have never been to the east coast before. I always hear about how great Foxwoods is. Do you have a preference between the two? Ever been to AC?

Once we get a final guest list done I can make some ID badges here at work. I work in a print shop so I can do it for free. It might be nice to easily identify people.

Sign me up, including Thursday. I doubt I'll make it on Sunday, since I'll probably have an early flight back to Florida. Of course, with any luck the Saturday game will still be going on when the sun comes up, so I'll get back to the hotel just in time to shower, check out, and go to the airport.

I have been to AC once. Mohegan is 15 minutes closer but Foxwoods is much bigger for poker

Glad to hear we are starting to get a nice crowd. I figured most wouldn't be able to come Sunday so hopefully my regs will fill most of the seats with some stragglers filling in.

Sooo excited for this!!!

I'm terrible at quickly making name-to-face associations, and I think this is a great idea.

I thought about doing that anyways, but mine would suck so palindrome if you want to handle that it would be appreciated by all I'm sure.

We've talked through PM before if I recall correctly so it would be good to put a name with a face. In the meantime your welcome anytime to come play with us even though I know the stakes are a bit lower than you like to play.

would it be more troublesome than a "Hello my name is..." sticker?

What else is there to do in the Chicago area poker-wise?

I can't make the Thursday game. I'll be there by the end of the Friday game, but being there at the beginning will be very difficult since I'm from the West coast. I'll lose two hours just by getting on the plane >.>

I'm still in for whatever percentage I was in for before, but at least I know when and where so I can start formulating a getaway plan...
