Re: Home Poker forum Pokerstars league -- season 5

Also, sorry for missing last week. I even logged on to register shortly before go time, but at quick glance it looked like there was no game that night. Apparently it was out of order or something. My mistake.

I think prizes would be nice! Intangible things of course. One thing I can think of is a forum title or something.

Besides 'me play bad, kitty play good, rungoot went south at wrong time'..... I certainly gave away enough money because I'm too ****ing stupid to know how to handle poker software properly.

gg pfap (assuming you won, or did Akhanar come back?) and whomever won the other table.

Hey, so, for the next league... is anybody interested in a scoring system that keeps things competitive throughout the league, encouraging people to keep playing
The last scoring system discouraged people, iyo?

I'm up for whatever.... when I can actually play. I'm writing this 20 minutes after I arrived home, so....

I'm probably traveling DURING the game if there is one Monday.

If there's something to be won, I'll probably play every season. I liked the league a lot better even when we had a pretend prize.

I don't understand how this season is different? There are points, they add up to a total. Is that not what was done before?

Thanks! You were a tough opponent, I enjoyed our hands. I think I won. I've done a lot of 1/2's. Tho' it's easier with only four players.

I think it's a factor, yes. Where is everybody? There are other reasons, but I feel the non-competitiveness is part of it. Just an opinion.

...

NLHE tonight! Easy game! Come play!

Re: Home Poker forum Pokerstars league -- season 5

I prefer a full table in any game I sit down in.... so far only 3 are signed up for NL. Weak sauce.

I think forum shutdown is to blame for the most part. I'm guessing many of the casual PS league members got used to not playing and by now have forgotten all about it. I figured it would be a gradual process in everyone returning.... so, beats me.

The scoring system isn't much of a factor, imo. The incentive for me is the leader board, but against only three or four at a time, it's lost much of the appeal in competing.

The scoring system determines the leaderboard, does it not? I think it's a combination of factors, anyway, the outage not least among them.

Got 4 now. Takes a crowd to draw a crowd.

Yes, which is why I think the scoring system is fine. The leader board is enough incentive for me to play when I am able. I'm sure others feel differently.

As for tonight, I was juggling several things early on, but was able to eat and relax during SNG #2 and finished runner up to a very game bhara99.

GGs, all.

So even if it's only three other people, that's okay with you, because of the leaderboard?

I'm not challenging, just trying to understand motivations.

I got distracted by trying to get kids to bed and dealing with being on call for work so that I completely forgot to log in last night.
