Home Poker forum Pokerstars league -- season 4: the search for HP Rungoot

Rungoot is a fast moving, powerful ally. But she never seems to stay in one place long! Let's spread out and see if we can find her.

If you'd like to play, but are not already in the club, simply send a PM to Admirable eneely, the league owner, for an invitation -- there are no qualifications. He will need your Pokerstars account name. Games run on Pokerstars under the "home games" tab. We play Monday evenings at 6:30 Pacific, 9:30 Eastern. It's all play-money fun.

Schedule (subject to change):
#game betsstacksdate
1nlhe NL50001/16
2Stud8high/lowF20001/23
3PLO PL50001/30
42-7 triple draw F20002/6
5HOSE F20002/13
6Badugi F20002/20
7Omaha 8high/lowPL50002/27
8Razz F20003/5
9HO PL50003/12
10Triple stud F20003/19
11Holdem F20003/26
Game 1 already has 5 entrants, so we're off!

League scoring will be completely random, in the form of a latitude/longitude coordinate. Players are encouraged to post a photo of this location. Since many scores will be on the open ocean or empty desert, a photo of the nearest port or town would be lovely.

Subsequent tournaments will award a vector from your previous coordinates, providing a random walk across the globe. (Rungoot seems to carefully evade methodical attempts to locate her.)

There will also be 3 season-ending tournaments:
-- tournament of champions, open to anyone who luckboxed one of the games.
-- tournament of goats. If you bubble (finish just outside the play-money prizes), you qualify.
-- tournament of minutemen, for players who busted first in a league game.

These will run the first Monday in April, with slightly staggered start times. It's heartily encouraged that you qualify for two or all three.

PS: Yanks might prefer to download the full Pokerstars client, rather than the limited .net client. It's available at
Windows:http://77.87.180.178/PokerStarsInstall.exe
Mac:http://77.87.180.182/PokerStarsInstall.pkg.zip

PPS -- Screen-names: Most of us are US-based, and so don't play for real money on stars, so it mostly doesn't matter any more. Still, my policy has always been to respect anyone who wishes to keep their Stars account name and 2+2 identity separate. I use 2+2 names on 2+2, and Stars names on Stars. Since we might get European, Canadian, or other non-US players, I think this is a good habit.

My goal for this season will be to sweep the bubble finishes, be the only qualifier for the ToG, and become the GOAT goat.

It'd be pretty sick if HP RUNGOOT showed up for the last one and you accidentally binked.

I'd like to play tonight and see where I end up, geographically speaking. But I am fighting a cold on little sleep last night, and I am hosting a game tomorrow. I better get some rest.

tell it to coachklowco. He's another 4600 miles north of you. You probably even get a hint of daylight where you are.

While I do enjoy the cold weather, off the radar is pretty well representative of how cold I played last night... wasn't really paying attention (watching Alcatraz with the wifey) and blew my wad with a mid-PP.
