Re: Home game situation - You opinion?
Player B wouldn't like our home games.
We play .25/.50 NL, and at least once a night you'll have preflop betting of:
UTG makes it $4, MP calls, CO makes it $12, BTN and SB calls, UTG makes it $40, MP folds, CO goes all in for $125, folds to UTG, who calls. We've had pots hit $500-600 in a .25/.50 game.

Sounds VERY familiar, when the stacks get deep toward the end of the night especially, it can cost an avg of $25-30 to see a flop and we've had pots in the 500-700 range too.

Re: Home game situation - You opinion?
This is retarded, guys.
It's a PL game, the guy asked how the pot got so high. Someone should've explained to him how the pot got to the point where someone could make it 15.

Re: Home game situation - You opinion?
Player B would be out of line if he wasnt in the hand. If he is in the hand hes allowed to say whatever he wants as he folds. Player A is not wrong that the comment influenced play, but any action influences play, and theres no guarantee or even any evidence player B's comment caused player A's bluff to fail.

I'm not sure that's the question. I think it's a PLO/NLHE game.
But yeah, if that's the real question, then there seems a basic answer.

Re: Home game situation - You opinion?
I think the answer lies not with WHAT was said, but HOW it was said. If the comment was made in the attitude of that bet looks so bluffy, then it shouldn't be said. If it was just some random comment not meant to influence action, i don't see the big deal. Also, i agree with above posters that it depends on the type of game. If this happened at a home game with friends, I personally, would not really care all that much.

This is a very popular point of view, and why it's so difficult to get people not to comment about the hand.
Todoshok, let's say you saw the flop with four other people and you pick up on a tell of someone else that lets you know he has the nuts. You say "I know you have the nuts because of your tell," and then fold.
You think this is okay?
How is this any way different from someone who didn't see the flop saying the same thing? What about being in the hand for a while means you're allowed to share information with other players?

I think it's ok- if the whole table wants to try to read me I'll just stop eating oreos. Obviously, every once in a while, someone will shout out something ingenious, but more often then not the people talking across the table will be wrong. I think it's to the person not getting advice's advantage if the other guy is listening to the advice. I know I'm in the minority, but that's just how I feel, especially in a home game. Also keep in mind that the most we ever play for in my home games is $50@, so take that for what it's worth.
