"Home" game on Pokerstars Monday night: You're invited! "Home" game on Pokerstars Monday night: You're invited!

Maybe they are not serious, just too lazy to type. The Palimax used to set up a Google Hangout, which was fun.

My daughter is home for a visit, so I couldn't make it. Seems like there is always something happening on Monday.

Why so serious when it's play money and a fun game?

I'm not very quick on the keyboard so internet chat is a tough one. The wife was also very chatty last night so I was a little preoccupied.

Super swingy game for me last night but fun none the less.

If you flop top set in Omaha, but have no redraws, on a board 2 to the flush and 2 to the straight, do you fold?

I wanted to fold badly on the hand I went busto on. I flopped a set of Jacks with 2 diamonds, and an 8 or 9 on the board. I planned on check folding the flop, but my brain went crazy and I c/r all in instead. I felt like c/f there in a play money tournament might have been way too nitty.

But I have no real knowledge of proper play in Omaha at all, so I wasn't sure.

Sorry if I'm diverting the thread too much with a strat question, but I was genuinely unsure of what to do there.

It depends on the situation to a certain extent but top set is not a hand you want to get in the habit of folding. You want to charge the draws but also be wary that the draws have a lot of equity against your holding. If you are super deep you can check/call the flop and jam safe turns. Otherwise, fist pump and gamble.

That makes sense, thanks. I was thinking, in a cash game I'd definitely either pot the thing myself or c/r like I ended up doing. It was relatively early on in the tournament, and since it was 8 game, I was thinking I could wait for a better edge, but ended up going all in anyways.

I like that you guys seem to take it mostly serious. I can get some good practice in, especially on none HE variants, where I'm largely inexperienced.

congratulations, nicely done.

When I thought of letting the winner pick the next game, I imagined a lot of no-limit holdem tournaments, with maybe a PLO here and there. Guess I misestimated the crowd a bit! 5cd sounds great.

Check to make sure you are still in the club. Let me know if you are not. I had to boot some inactive players to approve more. I think I left you active, but apologies if I didn't.

Is it possible to create a home game where all of the participants pool their money together and the winner at the end of the season gets a Main Event Seat. Or is this illegal?

It sounds like it would be illegal, but the only reason I ask is I remember a lot of guys making it into the main event on ESPN openly admitting to winning their local home game.

Also I know of pubs/bars who host similar events, where the overall winner, wins a main event seat or something similar.

Promise not to flop a straight flush to leave the poor set drawing completely dead?
05-28-2013 , 03:19 AM
Can't wait to get into action. I just applied. Want to be fresh and ready for when online comes back to me.

Approved.

We are at the 100 member mark. I'll have to remove someone to add another.

I am suggesting it, I would be in for sure. Probably wouldnt be able to get 100 players to ante $100 but what about 25 players to ante $200, where the overall winner would win a $5,000 package to a smaller WSOP event. Idk sounds like a great idea to me
