I hosted a dealers choice night about a week ago. Played what the dealer wanted for 1 orbit and then the next dealer was able to choose. Had 3 rounds Crazy Pinneaple, 4 rounds PLO, 1 Round 5 card PLO, 2 rounds Holdem, 1 round 7 card stud, 1 round Razz. It was fun. I was the big winner. A couple of the guys lost much more than the norm, which I felt a little bad about. I didn't have rule cards ready and I wish I would have. I think it was a success. I've noticed at games at other places that Im seeing more willingness to change up the games.

Wish you continued success with your project to diversify your groups games. Personally I could be happy with just NLH at our weekly meet up , but most of the crew like the variety and I have gotten used to it just fine. We took it slow with a lot of feedback on what preferences were. Orbits of set games seem so less confusing to us than Dealer Choice per hand structures are, ( and we have tried both). Good luck to you.

Thanks! It will get smoother each time we try it. I figured up that we played right at 100 hands for the night and we played a little more than 4 hours. I never before had a clue how many hands we usually played but it's easy to remember this way since we played a different game each orbit. Hoping to see more split pot and low only games mixed in next time.

Glad to hear it went well, and that is a nice mix of games to start.

I would agree that now that the concept of the low has been introduced, split pot games are a good next step for increasing the game variety.

But that is definitely where the game cards will help. You want to be clear on what qualifies as a low when someone might think erroneously they are in the hunt for half the pot and they don't get there.
