Finished my new table

I started on the table a little over a month ago after I got approval from my wife to use it as a poker/dining room table. I don't have any experience in woodworking past my 7th grade shop class so I was a little nervous about taking on such a huge project, but I can say I had no major errors and I love how it turned out. Props to the scottkeen forum for the inspiration and the how to's to show me how to even begin on a project like this.

I'm not quite done yet as I still have to build the table top that goes to it that will hide the poker table completely as I have a 4.25" apron that will go around it (You can see it in the background in the first two pictures). I will post pictures of it when I'm done. If anybody is in my west Chicago area and wants to play on it let me know. I run a game on the 4th Sat. of the month. .10/.20 blinds and I'm still looking for more players to add to my list.

Chips are my Grand Island Set. When I find a job I will then order a custom ASM set with the same logo that is on the cloth.

I think it moved.

Seriously awesome. Nice thick rail, deep cupholders, and ROUND. Perfect for self-dealt home games.

Re: Finished my new table

Seriously nice table. I'd like to build one like this, but a bit wider, so that 10 can fit around it. We have an old junker table we built maybe 10 years ago that is 6' wide. With a little help getting the chips to where they need to go, and the cards back to the dealer, it works great. But it has no rail and crappy cloth, so we don't use it much. Needs a do-over.

WP, sir. You can play poker now, and get around to that table top one day, on a non-poker night. I'd say you have a year.

Nice table. Sometime in the next 10 years, I'll get around to building one myself, and it'll probably be a 60" round.

I really like the graphic, as well. Not so crazy about the name, but maybe there is a story behind that.

It's a 56" round. The table top will be 60". I couldn't make it any larger than that otherwise it wouldn't fit in the room. It will fit 8 players comfortably, 9 would be a squeeze since there would only be about 19.5" per player, with 8 it is at 21.5"

The graphic is a silhouette of my car (Pontiac G8). The name is a combination of my two hobbies, cars and poker. Piss'd N Broke also sounds like Piston Broke.

Re: Finished my new table

gotcha.

That graphic would look nice on a set of custom ASMs. Black label.

I'm having trouble deciding between black or white label. I'm thinking I might already have too much black with the cloth/rail to have black labels on the chips.

Re: Finished my new table

If you get chip colors that really pop, I think the black labels would look good. Maybe you can get a sample and test it out.
