I have just about every $1 AC chip ever made. I think I am missing one of the Del Webb HiHo's and a color variant of the Harrah's Trump Plaza. Oh and the Holiday Inn chip that no one seems to have.

I dont specifically collect one area of chips but ive got tons from around the world if anyone is interested in trading. Ill post a new list later today

What years was the Holiday Inn around. I've never seen this chip before, I'm working on getting almost every $1 chip made in AC, and i can't say i've come across this one before.

Ok, so my curiosity got the best of me and after doing a little bit of research this is what i came up with. When Harrah's Marina was being built in Atlantic City, the casino was originally planned to don the name Holiday Inn. Now the details on the name change seem to differ between the different sources that i've read, however it seems that somewhere along the lines, upper management realized that the name Harrah's in the gambling world would be much more profitable than a Holiday Inn, but other sources also indicate that the "Holiday Inn" name had their gaming license application rejected, and needed the help of Bill Harrah to get approval. Originally the chips were made identical to the metal inlay Harrah's chips, with the only difference being instead of the chip reading "Harrahs Marina", it simply said "Holiday Inn". I could not find a number of how many of these chips were made, or existed and were later commissioned to be destroyed, however they certainly have never seen play. I would have to imagine that this chip could possibly be one of the single most rarest Atlantic City chips ever to have existed. If anyone has more information on the topic, or by some chance happen to be in possession of one of these gems, please do share!
