It's time... would like to add a couple Desjgn setups to the rotation.

Currently: Poker sized Copags and Kems in the rotation.

Questions:

Are you using bridge ($15 setup) or poker ($19) in your games?
Same size that you usually play with?

I think I'll end up buying at Cara Gail's, as they are cheaper and have cheapest shipping.

Was going to get 1 each size, but figured I'd check with you guys first. Bummed that the kickstarters never got off the ground, at least the ones I saw and signed up for.

Thought about getting a 10 count... but didn't know if they came with cases, and don't think I can pawn off enough locally to get down to 4. The price break isn't that great to keep more than 4.

Thanks

I use poker size and love them. I only use poker size in my game and hate shuffling bridge size. Desjgn cards are really the only cards I use anymore. Each set up comes up with their own case that is fairly study.

I too was sad the kick-start didn't run, especially for the blackjack size.

Please consider getting the large index cards. These are easy on old eyes.

Desjgn cards are the favorite at all my games, we use large index set ups almost exclusively.

Thanks. Most of our setups are jumbo index. We have a few people with old eyes and our lighting is not that great.

I think I'm the proactive one, trying to accommodate before there is an issue. Sometimes I think I think too much and I should let people speak up before assuming action.

It appears that they at least ship out of NJ. Wondering if I might be able to visit a showroom, as I'm also in NJ.

Purchased classic Victorians from caragails. They are highly recommended here and I second it.

The cards are nice but I think I prefer bridge size. Going to place an order for the classic cultures.

FYI, not sure if you noticed. In caragails website, you need to click on the classic Victorians link from the home page. If you click on the desjgn link from the menu at the top of the page, it only a shows the classic culture cards.

In a side note, really like everything about fournier cards. They are excellent.

At Caragails.com, if you click on Desjgn and click "Next" at the top or bottom, you'll see the Victorians. Not sure why they do it that way.

At any rate, I'd like to buy the bridge size myself, but I don't think you are going to like the classic culture nearly as well. They are good cards, but don't have the same feel.

This.

I love the Classic Victorians. They are my go-to card and the only ones I order nowadays. However, I don't like the feel of the earlier Desjgn cards. The plastic is too slippery and doesn't have that somewhat papery texture that the CVs have.

Yes, and . . .

This is why . . . that said, maybe you like that in a card. You really cannot go wrong with Desjgns as, with the price point they usually go for, they are the best value out there.

Bridge size all the way, because poker size is far too big for shuffling all night. I can do it, but I also have large skinny hands. Still don't like it.

Jason is (or at least used to be) very good about replacing individual cards for free. It's for this reason I recommend buying two decks of the colours your intend to use, to make your own replacements.

Hoping to hear back from Cara Gail's, perhaps take a ride by...

Looks like I'll be leaning towards a setup of CV and maybe bridge just to see...

Bridge.
Large index if available.

I still find the Desjgn style a bit too art deco, with the stylized diamonds reminding me of a 50's bowling alley sign.

That's a great comparison. I like them even more. Art Deco best deco.

Another vote for the CV's here. As much as I like my other setups, the Desjgn's are an excellent choice.

Love the CV's, but my dream cards are bridge-size CV with the blackjack index.

And of course the Art Deco style goes oh so well with both of my custom sets.

What can I say, I'm a traditionalist.

I've got a set or two of 'em, but I live on a pretty steady diet of Jumbo Index "plastic casino" Cartemundi for my league and all casual use, with some Cartemundi Casino Acetate for the big game. They hit $10 a setup a while ago, so I ordered another pile.
