Re: custom printed layouts
I know jzpiano has custom printed cloth on his table, but I couldn't find the thread where he talks about it. I would think you would be able to find a local screenprinter who could do the job for you, though. Good luck, sorry I can't be more helpful.

Re: custom printed layouts
pimpmytable did my custom felt. Very pleased with it and they were easy to deal with, got the order done quick, and were very reasonable on price.

Re: custom printed layouts
I used BigSlik, but I probably wouldn't use them again.
While they coincidentally employed the same freelance artist that did my chips (big win!), there were other communication issues that never quite sorted themselves out.
They get good reviews elsewhere though, so take mine with a grain of salt.

Re: custom printed layouts
Is there a big difference between using a BigSlik or PimpMyTable versus a local screenprinter? I know in every table thread, tons of replys are along the lines of "find a local guy". Just wondering what these "professional custom table printers" do that a "professional custom printer" does not...

Re: custom printed layouts
Dye sublimation is a different process than screen printing. Screen printing will change the texture of the fabric. It is like painting the fabric with color. Dye sublimation, done right, should not change the feel and performance of the felt. Plus, with dye sub, you have the ability to mix colors for a larger palette, like an ink jet printer.

Re: custom printed layouts
With DyeSub, the felt itself is white, and you print it to color - and your logo and whatnot are part of the print, just like the "background" color on the table. With DyeSub, your entire felt could be a color spectrum.
Silk Screening, OTOH, gives you a raised, painted, portion of the felt, generally in a limited multi-color multi-pass process.
Think about the difference between the T-shirt you bought at the strip club, and a nice patterned shirt.
Now, silk screening might be right for you -- but that's the difference why.

Re: custom printed layouts
Thanks for the info. I was thinking about getting a logo and a betting line on the speed felt for my next table. I had no idea the processes were different.

Re: custom printed layouts
Dye sublimination is definetly the way to go if you ask me. I use to build tables as a side business and the color fastness, durability for logos ect is unmatched in my opinion

I went to "the local guy" in my area, and after explaining what I wanted done he suggested PimpMyTable. They were very easy to deal with and I sent back their proof multiple times since it was not exactly what I wanted and they were always prompt about trying to make the corrections until we got it right.

After finding this thread, I went to pimpmytable to see if they are dye sub or screen print, but could not figure it out. What are they?

Did you look at the gallery? Those all look like photos to me. I would also be curious about the cost.

I sent him a couple rough drawings of what I had in mind. I wish I could find the drawings, but I can't seem to. He first sent me back this:
Which was not want I wanted, so after emailing him he sent me this:
Which was close to what I wanted and similar to my idea, but I could not decide on color. After finding some vinyl that I wanted for the rail and thinking it over, I wanted the felt to be black so after a couple attempts this was the final sample:
Which was exactly what I wanted. Here is a pic of the finished product:
Very, very, very pleased. Price was $221 shipped and after I approved the final sample the felt was on my doorstep in less than a week.
