I was under the impression $4 max was applicable to the Bellagio the Venetian MGM and Aria, or have they changed it?

Had an 8 game mixed 2/4 rotation game (this was the one I posted a thread about 3 weeks ago on). Turned out great! I managed to lose $100 in the first 20 minutes of the evening in LHE. Got coolered twice and missed every draw. That was fun....after that the rest of the rounds went pretty well and slowly won back most of my money.
Played one of the sickest PLO hands I've ever had. We played with a $50 cap tonight in a single 25 cent blind game. I had KKJT double suited and reraised pot over one guy. I get a cold caller and the initial raiser calls. Board comes out 964r. I soul read and know I'm ahead so I pot, call call, turn is a 2 for a 4 suit board. I say I'm still good and bet the rest of the cap. Both call. Kinda a WTF moment if you will...
150 pot in a .25 cent blind game....so 600bb and it turns out my reads were right and I had the best hand and best equity (~55%). Their hands were
TT83 - 5%
987A - 40%
River came a damn A for a $150 swing the wrong direction.
After this the TT guy hit the cap with me in a pot holding a naked flush draw against my set on the turn. He bricked out in all 3 runs so I made my money back there. After that we played some limit crazy pineapple and with 6 people managed to have about 3 or 4 $100 pots.
Later in the rotation during limit Omaha 8. I held the second nuts twice only to lose to the nuts in both of them. Had the nut low in another hand and got 1/4ed. Fun fun.
Some how I managed to show a $30 profit for the evening. Either way though, was a ton of fun and we managed to use 700 blue chips for the game with about 200 dollars in yellows mixed in for thr NLHE and PLO rotations. I would love to do that everytime, but a couple guys I think didn't play because the stakes were too high so I will only be able to so that occasionally.

4/20 falls on a Friday this year. I'm going to host my annual POT-limit Omaha 420 special game. Since I play poker with a bunch of "smokers" and because people can't commit on a non-work night, a few players asked if I can host on Thursday instead. That way we can play POT-limit Omaha HIGH only till clock strikes midnight, then "celebrate"

I've been tracking my results for the past 3 and half years. After roughly 358 hours of play I wanted to see what my graph looks like

Venetian was $3 max when I was out there. They have no BBJ, so they don't pull for it.

Re: April 2012 Open Thread
Small TR from Fridays game. I forgot to asked for the HP Rungoot, but I did not end up needing it. I have been running bad lately and was getting sick of sucked out on by lagtards so I play very TAG poker all night. We had 11 players for a $20 NLHE donkament. We start at 7:30 pm and as a group we voted that cards will be in the air at 7:30 and if you are not there we will pay a BB for every hand you miss. We have about 16 players in the group so we call everyone to double check who will be there to know how many stacks to set out. This seems to cut down on the tardiness and everyone agreed to this rules.
Now on to the tournament, since we had 11 players we divided up to two table 6 and 5. Bad luck so far as I ended up with the 5 players. I picked my spots carefully and rarely showed down for the first hour. I was chip leader with about 3500 (we start with 2000) when I raised to 325 with AKos blinds were at 50/100. I once caller in the big blind and she is 2nd in chips with 3000 or so. We see a flop of AA10 rainbow she checks to me and I bet 350. She quickly calls. The turn brings off a 7. There is no flush possibly and she shoves all in for 1350. I think for a second and realize she would not do this with a boat. I call and she shows AQ. The river brings a king for my full house.
I managed to bully my way through the final table and take advantage of the button. I won the tourney for $140 and donated $20 in euchre because I am fish in that game. haha

1/2 300 max $3 rake sounds good to me. Plus I didn't make it to the Venetian last time; MGM was so juicy that I could barely bring myself to play anywhere else.
So MGM and Venetian are on my list. Since I'm staying at the Trop, I'll probably give it a try as well, but it sounds like a tiny room with little action so I doubt I'll put much time in there.

Is the Tropicana the room that Jamie Gold is the spokesman for now? Who wouldn't want to play in that room?! ;-)

You have to try the Aria, it is a very nice poker room and the action is pretty good also. I've hit some soft tables since I've been here. Was up 250 first night.

I went to Hard Rock Tampa last night with my wife for dinner and some slots (Mrs. S is not a poker player). We had a good dinner and lots of fun throwing money away in the penny slots. After a while we wandered down to the new poker room; this was the first chance I'd had to check it out. It's huge and was extremely busy, but to my surprise Mrs. S said, "I have a book, go play for an hour."
I put my name on the wait lists for 1/2 and 1/3 NLHE, and got called to a 1/2 (100 max) table about 10 minutes later. It was AWFUL, and I wish I had been able to stay longer than an hour. I think this hand is the epitome of the way the table was playing and the way I was running:
One limper, I limp from CO with AQo, expecting the uber-aggressive BTN to pop it. He plays along and raises to $10, SB folds, BB ($60) calls, limper calls, and I call. (Yes, I know, but at this type of game I think there's value in sometimes calling here rather than 3betting.)
Flop ($41): AJ2r. BB opens for $12, limper calls, I raise enough to put BB all-in, BTN folds, BB calls, and EP limper folds. Turn 2, river 6, and BB tables 62o for the runner-runner boat. After the hand he says he felt it coming.
Another hand of note: A9 < K3s on an A9x two-tone flop (K3 refused to fold the flush draw and got there ldo). So after my hour was up, I was down $144. This one barely counts because it was only an hour, but I've had four losses in my last six sessions, and the two wins have been small. It's time for the runbad to end; I'm getting a little annoyed here and really need to post a solid win this Thursday.

Have to say I hate the poker at the Hard Rock Tampa. Would much rather play at the poker rooms at the two dog tracks. The play is generally horrible and I think a good many of the dealers are awful for somewhere that I'm paying a rake to play. Now if no rake I can put up with them better....

I played a $125 tourney at the Aria last time but no cash. Adding it to the list since I need a $1 souvenir chip from there anyway.

I loved the horrible players, don't get me wrong. Those are the kind of folks I want to play against. In fact, I'm playing a Vegas warm-up session Friday night, and I'm considering going back to HR instead of making the usual trek to Daytona. The drive is longer, but wow did I have an uberfishy table last time.
I've heard about the poor dealers and floors there, so that makes me a little nervous, but I'm willing to risk it.

I'm guessing on average any venue which has a large variety of gaming options beyond straight up poker has a higher potential for "fishyness" since you are more likely to attract the casual gambler just sitting down at the poker table for a change of pace after a couple of hours at [insert game of choice here]

Schmendr1ck is the poker room that you play at in Daytona at the dog track right by the Daytona 500? If so I was there a few years back and was disappointed with the dealers. I am planning on going to Daytona again this summer and wondered if it is worth a stop back.
