10-11 handed table

Im thinking of buying or building a table with room for 10-11 players plus a dealer, if anyone can recommend something that would be great.

My main concern is that all the designs I see are built around 4x8 sheets of plywood, and Im not sure that is big enough for 10 players plus a dealer to be comfortable. Im thinking 9x4 would be great, but Im not sure if I can buy sheets of plywood in larger sizes easily.

EDIT:

this is what Im looking for basically, but without spending $5k!

Re: 10-11 handed table

I've fit 12 around my 8-footer. I've also played at the casino 11-handed plus a dealer. It's tight, but doable, especially if you don't have super wide chairs like I do.

Oversized plywood is usually available in special order from most lumberyards, and probably box-stores like Lowe's and Home Depot.

Re: 10-11 handed table

Good lumber yards will have 4'x10' and 5'x10' sheets available, depending on the plywood grade (or as dugthefish said, special order in a week or two). I'd say you'd want a 108"x44" for 11 plus a dealer. You may be able to squeeze that onto a standard 8 foot table, but unless they're all 110 lb chics it'll be really tight.

Once you've got the larger plywood, the build is identical to a regular table. If you're interested in having something built instead, feel free to shoot me a PM (assuming you're in NY).

I own this table. It's their 8 sided octagon table "stretched out" to accomodate 10 people.

Pros: Its 2 people on each side, and 3 on each end, instead of a true oval table. So end to end its shorter than a true holdem table. Which is better if you don't have a dedicated dealer (we don't).

Cons: price (but I can't put a nail in a 2x4, so building a table wasn't an option for me).
Con 2: for some reason when they deliver it, they literally drop it off the truck and expect you to get it in the house. Apparently they assume everyone buying is some sort of club/establishment (it does say no install on the website, but not on the order page, so I missed that). My wife had to slip the guy $20 just to get it into the house (and even that was a hard sell).
