mcbogart had an issue with some money owed that was resolved early last year, and is now asking for reinstatement.

I'll let him post as to why he believes he should be reinstated, and then look for others' opinions to help with the decision.

These threads aren't about pure numbers of how many are in favour and how many against, but more for discussion of what happened and whether a second chance is reasonable.

Keep in mind that whatever is decided, the history is always there for anyone to find and make their own decision on whether or not to deal with mcbogart.

I used to sell packages in the marketplace a few years ago and on my last one, I screwed up. I used to drink pretty heavily because of my depression and that day of the package, I was wasted. The package didn't even sell and I played a few MTTs of my own. I did not realize that there were a few members who had shipped me some money for the package even though it did not run. I may or may not have used some of that money (I honestly cannot remember). I was unaware of them sending it though. The next morning I walked away from poker and 2+2 for a very long time (I would say about 6 months, not sure if the mods can see my absence during that time period) and focused on dealing with my drinking problem and depression.

I came back to 2+2 to read and posted a comment in a PGC thread I believe. Someone PM'd me that I owed them money and I asked for thread and they showed me. I did not even remember posting that package but it was clear I owed some money back.

The amount is insignificant, although I will say it was small. I was completely wrong and I accept full responsibility for my actions. I paid back those who I owed as soon as I could.

My head is clear now. I do not drink and play poker at the same time anymore. I would NEVER steal from someone. This was a situation of stupidity. I never should have posted a package in the first place in that condition.

I do apologize to those that I had their money for over 6 months. I'm very sorry I took advantage of you.

I would like to start selling again in the marketplace. I feel great about my game. I hope you guys can give me a second chance.

Posted twice in PG&C ~3 months later, in early January 2015.
Posted twice in February, one of those posts being to get SNs to send the money you owed.
Didn't post again until early April, when you started posting regularly again.

So that shows there was a close to 6 month period with only 4 posts.

Also, in case this information is useful to anyone, this thread being here doesn't reflect either positively or negatively on any part of his explanation above. OP had PMed another mod a couple of times over the last year (he was told to wait a while after the first PM, which he did), and may have told that mod the story, but when he PMed me I didn't ask him for details - instead I suggested a thread where he could tell his side of things and let everyone who is interested have a say.

McBogart owed me money from the said package, then disapeared. I saw him posting somewhere else, PMd him, he asked about the original thread, which I showed him and after that he payed immediately. I can confirm that part of the above story.

Any thoughts on his reinstatement?

Have nothing to do with Mcbogart, but seems like he made a bad mistake and repaid. Reinstate the man. Kudos for being a man and actually paying after being approached.

I have no problems when mcbogart can sell again. He made one mistake, made up for that the first chance he got after I PMd him about the issue when he was online again and even apologized again now, some days ago in a PM. Nothing more he can do.

Looking at some scams in the MP where guys ran away with five figure ammounts of investors funds, mcbogarts issue was marginal tbh.

Second chance encouraged imo.

About a week ago I PMed both people who were owed money and then repaid later, and linked them to this thread. hapunkt is in favour of MP approval being restored, and the other poster hasn't replied.

One-time mistake made good, no arguments against reinstatement, so I've reinstated MP approval. Good luck, mcbogart - make the most of your second chance.
