This is from a $5.5 igniton ss (5k starting chips, 12 minute levels) mtt on ignition. I bought in about an hour in and had been playing for about another hour, not really able to get anything started.
This is a spot I've run into a few times and just wanted to know how to minimize mistakes. Unfortunately, I don't have the hand histories, so
I'm approximating from memory.
9 Handed
UTG A

(hero) - 20bb
MP: 35bb (table big stack)
BTN (villain) - 15bb
SB, BB 10-15bb
Hero OR 2bb UTG, villain flats on BTN, all else fold
Flop (5.5bb) 9

Hero bets 3bb, villain raises to 6bb (he clicked it back, so I actually believe it was less than 2x)
Hero?
I chose to bet here because I had 2 overs and a backdoor vs what I perceived to be a pretty weak range of mostly pocket pairs. Villain is sort of a loose and spewy player. I think maybe check-calling and jamming a good turn might've been good here, but I was was also considering taking advantage of my fold equity and putting pressure on him rather than having to bluff catch on the turn. Note that after his raise, he only has about 7bb behind.
