i 3bet this pre over 75% i think. it's a great hand for it, his stack is great size for it.

J is a good card to overjam. fish can call AJ, QJ here. no reads? i think if he snaps with KJ/KQ/AK, it's half-cooler, half us flatting KT OOP, and half him playing well. for a total of three halfs.

oh yea fwiw, i happily bet less here so he will call with Ax pairs, PPs, Jx hands.

i don't hate this though, i do it a bunch...usually with slightly better hands though.

I call river ob shove as played. 3b this hand pre and vbetting 1/2 pot on river are also obv choices in this hand.

i like when i read a thread and start thinking of what i'd do and then it's already posted. 3 bet pre or fold. Call river overbet as played.

why are people "calling" the shove that HE made??

b/f loses the value of our hand and turns it into a bluff.
its either b/c or c/c once you get to the river that way.

i dont think he has better OTR very often unless he has JJ (KJ maybe) and if he has we still have 100BBs left.

would c/c'ing the river not be a strong play here? The villain called 1/2 pot on the flop and checked behind on the turn. Its not hard to put him on a hand like 2 spades. I would let him bluff the river. (of course im a donkey)

As played getting value on the river with an overbet shove may have been the result of facing a J hi spade draw.

Check-calling the river is very bad imo, he's going to check back like 90% of his range, and I don't even expect him to bluff his missed draws that often. Actually, it would probably be a c/f.

I would overbet this river [and call preflop] only with special reads on Vilain and a special dynamic at the table. But you're repping a bluff pretty well, so I like it.

I think we can discount AK/KQ here as well as sets based on how he played it. The basic premise behind the shove was becasue I felt it looked the most bluffy...We're not really repping any value betting hands except sets. We're getting called by Js as well as potentially PPs...If they're calling a 1/2PSB, they're probabably calling a shove...


And I think this is one of those spots we can b/f. We're never getting raised by worse-villian has to assume 0 FE...

giving villain too much credit imo. I mean yeah we don't rep much but he can't also have much to go into hero mode. I just think more can hero a regular bet as opposed to a shove.

Jx spades, tt, 99 and k9 imo and maybe 77 once in a while. Plus villain is never bluff jamming so we shouldn't worry about betting normal. The only hand we can turn into a bluff with spades but that's about all. Just my thoughts. I get why you wanted to shove i just don't care for it personally.
