PokerStars - 8000/16000 Ante 2000 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 4 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

CO: 26.19 BB (VPIP: 32.58, PFR: 23.83, 3Bet Preflop: 10.53, Hands: 264)
BTN: 12.19 BB (VPIP: 19.20, PFR: 13.82, 3Bet Preflop: 7.02, Hands: 125)
SB: 80.34 BB (VPIP: 17.67, PFR: 12.85, 3Bet Preflop: 4.42, Hands: 254)
Hero (BB): 49.05 BB

4 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2 BB) Hero has 9 A

CO raises to 2.15 BB, fold, SB raises to 6.12 BB

HERO?

v is extremely aggressive as CL. The opener has a wide opening range; SB has a 2/7 resteal from SB vs LP.

Considering all this and our blocker hand, is it possible to 4bet? If yes, as a small 4bet/fold 5bet or as a repush? Thanks!

It's not a bad selection to bluff with if you feel like SB is getting out of line and you're deep enough to make it 13BB and fold to a shove.

I don't think I would choose this spot though as SB's overall stats look pretty standard. I'd also prefer to have some sort of A-rag suited hand but I understand that these spots don't come round too often, sometimes you just have to go with how you feel the table is playing!

Yep. That's exactly the point. I guess many of v's reraises are a bluff there, that's why, with a blocker, I think that this could be a good spot to 4bet bluff. The real thing I'd like to understand is how can be profitable 4bet to fold to a 5bet push, or 4push directly.

not too sure since sb is tight on the whole 3bets, even though he has stolen twice its not that many hands to judge anything on.

I think i prefer a 4b/f to a 4b shove as you would never shove AA or KK 50bb eff. here so best to balance that with some bluffs if you're going to bluff.
