We are in the middle stages of OSS event number 6 on ACR, a $10 bi 15k gtd.

Blinds are 1k/2k. We're relatively deep compared to the other players, sitting with a stack 121k. Most other players at the table have around 20-30 bb, there are only two other players that come close to covering me, villain is one of them.

Villain is a tight player it seems, VPIP 15/PFR 10. His stack comes in just a couple of bb under mine at 116k, so like I said, one of the two other players at the table that I would prefer to avoid at this point.

Action is as follows:
Villain is UTG. He min raises to 4k. It folds around to me on the button with QQ. I 3-bet to 9k. Both blinds fold and it's back on our tight, deepstacked, UTG villain. He re-pops it again to a whopping 37k.

Call, Raise, Fold?

37k is meaty. any notes on his 4b range?

Being that he's tight, I don't think I want to put 30% of my stack in calling here and 5bet shoving doesnt look too promising.

What do you think his image of you is at this point? Can he think you are 3 betting light?

you have to ask yourself why would a seemingly tight player with a deep stack step out of line out of position against anopther big stack at this point. I'm folding

TAG raises utg and then puts in a sizeable 4b after you 3b him? Doesn't look good at all.

This was the first time he had 4bet since I had been at the table. I had seen 3 bet once or twice but nothing that seemed too crazy. To tell you the truth, this was definitely the only time I had seen him do anything that seemed noteworthy.

I folded. I just needed to post the hand here so I didn't feel like such a nit.

At the end of the day my thought process was that if I shove and get called I am almost certainly behind. If I just flat, the best I can hope for in order to feel good about my hand post is to flop a set. And do I really want to set mine for a third of my stack at this point? If the flop comes dry with unders, which is the second best scenario, I am still hating life if he pushes out a large c-bet. And if the flop comes an A or K, I'm folding.

So yeah, it's a good, disciplined fold imo, but it's still one that can keep you up at night.

From your description of not wanting to tangle with villain, why 3betting pre? It might seem a bit results oriented, but in these spots or bubbles, I'll start flatting JJ/QQ/AK

Depends a bit on table dynamics but I would hate to flat the minraise and have another villain or two come along for the ride.

OP, big folds can be as important as winning pots.

Easy fold. You crush nothing in his range except bluffs.
