off topic mtt plan for multitablers

sorry for not posting an actual HH but i wanted to ask fellow grinders

suppose u play a bunch of tourneys lets say 10 or so (how many u play really?)

some of them are advanced

they are from different sites so screen is a little messier

you have 1 FT in there, 1 bubble

and then u also have a HU FT

obviously the HU FT is the most important and will make a huge difference in your roi if u mess things where if u forget to shove 15biggies with Kss from sb is not a great difference.

so do you like mentally try to concentrate on the HU and the FT almost ignoring the other tables or playing an easy shove/fold easy game?

any tips on doing this better?

everyone is different, but you'll get used to that with time.

I would say you need to pay attention to those tournaments in which table dynamics are playing a major role. so, HU, FT, FT bubble, itm bubble and any stage of a tournament in which there are antes and the average stack is 20bbs or so - in that order. the initial stages are not rly important, so forget those until it's time to focus on them.

obv you focus on the FT and autopilot the rest to the best of your ability. might set out a few of those. Assuming this is not an SNG ft of course

i always just try to play every tournament to the best of my abilities, no matter what stage it is at, that is why I only 6 table, coz i know i can play my A+ game on all 6 tables. although i cant get as much volume as other regs, that is more than made up for for my ability to play quality poker every single hand rather than autopiloting heaps of tables. hence my 55% roi over 2.k games. I find my opponents can be exploited when they are on autopilot obv, especially late stage. If you are running 6 tables or over a hud is absolutly mandatory

Re: off topic mtt plan for multitablers

absolutely focus on the HU / FT's. they have exponentially higher priority.

sometimes i will accidentally fold AA/KK early tourney because i'm focusing on HU /playing video games/watching movie or whatever. these hands are meaningless in comparison to HU/FT (in terms of $$). i wouldn't necessarily sit out from them or anything drastic. just TAG autopilot them.

if you run real good and you have 80 billion tables active, then yes, sit out of the lowest stake / smallest blind tournies. you can't win a tournament (or win real money) during the early phases anyway, but you can dam sure lose.

i will sometimes turn off my hotkey programs if i'm at a FT with multiple other tables active, forcing me to sit out of the newer tourneys, but it eliminates any risk of misclicking crap tons of $Ev down the drain

My mind may be different than others (and I suggest taking a 'whichever way works best for you' perspective) but I tend to always place a preference on certain games when I have say 5 or so games running. For me it's the game where I'm running well in that I focus the most on, placing games where I'm behind in into the background and getting into a fold/shove mode on those ones (or of course an occasional 2.5x raise).

When you have 12+ tables running and you're an SNG grinder (which I am not), you learn to work more as a robot. You don't get many reads because you can't. You're just a profit machine making +e.v. moves like a robot and you don't even see the bad beats.
