Merge $2r: Line Check w/ 99, 40BB Effective

Villain is a random running 21/9, 22% ATS over 48 hands. Don't know what he's repping by clicking it back OTF, should I have raised here? Turn I'm inclined to jam. All thoughts are appreciated.

fold turn.

I click it back otf/call a shove. his range there is mainly draws and im happy to stack off right there and then. we have blockers to 89 so once the flush draw gets there im mucking.

I like the flat PF.

I doubt villain running 21/9 over 50+ hands is doing anything adventurous post flop w/ anything worse than 99...I prob just dump it OTF to that tiny c/r cuz despite the pot odds are hand has no implied value and really what do we think our equity is vs his c/r range after PFRing? I understand your call however.

As played OTT don't think we're ahead of anything anymore. Fold.

My thoughts exactly on villain. I just don't understand why he would check AKss/KQss/QJss etc. however as I'm pretty sure he would fist pump get it in if I raised his c-bet.

I understand it's an LP open but with > 40BBs I like playing the pot in position against a fairly straight forward player (I probably should have mentioned BB was fairly LAGgy and I would've gotten it in vs. a squeeze.)

Re: Merge $2r: Line Check w/ 99, 40BB Effective

My opinion and play here based on:

Villain is a random running 21/9, 22% ATS over 48 hands. Don't know what he's repping by clicking it back OTF, should I have raised here? Turn I'm inclined to jam. All thoughts are appreciated.

I like to know the stat for opening by position this gives me a better idea of his opening ranges by pos.

By flatting 9's you have no idea what his range really is, and an overcard is going to hit the board putting you in a spot. 9's are a little to strong to play for set value but no strong enough to get it all in pre @ 40BB.

At this stack size and having position I would of 3 bet to have him define his hand a little more to me. If he flats his range is skewed toward broadway cards, 77+. If he 4 bets then his hand looks like QQ+ & AK. No problem folding here.

Then play post flop -- Cbetting (1/2 pot) any flop that doesn't contain A-Q.

If an A-Q hits the flop I will check for pot control... He is playing 21/9 so he has to think we might be trapping if the A-Q does hit and we check.

He will want to get to show down if he has a middle pair with overcards on the board so we can win there.

This is how I would of played this hand

(To me, jamming the turn is bad because you are usually on getting called by hands that beat you.)

Unsure if you use the Raise 1st in stat by position....

My HUD looks like (you can see on my blog, can find it at my location -- live final table videos)

It really helps me a lot:

Line 1: Vpip, PFR, Hands 3B

Line 2: Below name: RFI - early, mid, late & Steal, Btn & BB

Line 3: How many Big Blinds

It's clean and can make most decisions from these stats..

My HUD set-up is as follows:

Name/VPIP/PFR
3Bet/Flop c-bet/Steal
Fold vs. Steal/Fold to c-bet/# of Hands

When I mouse over PFR it gives me the percentages of opens by position.
